Just back from the gym and the Premiership Years 1993/94 was on.
We featured 5 times whilst I was watching. the 2-2 at Liverpool, the 1-0 win over QPR, the 2-1 win at home to Spurs, (winner was from an indirect free kick 7 yards out, presume their keeper picked up a backpass) 3-3 at home to Norwich and 2-1 at home to Coventry. For such a bad season we featured a fair amount on that programme!

Colin laid on the ball, so it was considered obstruction....I was convinced at the time he did us a favour.

Finally got a new head unit working properly in my car – one of theseIt runs an ancient version of android but it does keep it pretty snappy. I haven’t had the chance to properly play around with it but I’ve found Waze is better than default navigation, the dedicated Spotify app with offline support is shit hot and I’ve got Torque pro working for real-time information and diagnostics for the heck of it. It’s not perfect but neither is Android Auto and those type of head units were double the price.

With all the adaptors and everything about £430. I’ve fitted stereos before but the internet forums and guides were a massive help especially regarding the pain in the arse Bose amplifier and it saved me another £50 in labour by making it a DIY job. I’ve learned to read wiring schematics very carefully!
The Android Auto units would push £700 DIY fitted. There are also Android head units from China but reports are mixed and they aren’t an awful lot cheaper but they do run on more recent versions of Android. I’d be nervous about the reliability and warranty.
I’ve seen plenty of Raspberry Pi projects and Arduino projects. Another option is to use a tablet which you can eject a bit like an old skool tape deck style. You going to need an external amp. I’d love to work on a car pc one day.

I'd not previously considered making it in a stereo as well. I will probably keep that part separate having now thought about it. Keen on making a PC/satnav type box though. R Pi3 - £30, touchscreen, £90ish quid, GPS receiver, £5er tops then some dicking around to set it up. My kind of fun.

How would you get sounds from the R Pi? Bluetooth or an aux into the stereo head unit?

No idea to be truthfully honest, It's just a vague notion that I might attempt at the moment.
