the top of league 2 looks good to me- a side from accrington, 8 of the top 9 are southern teams. 4 better away days for next year compared to this seasons drivel.

Could be another couple coming down from championship too, Bolton aside of course.
And with the bottom of league 1 having a northern bias could be a better looking league next season

Surely its not yet too late for Pox to implode and blow promotion yet again

It's never too late for the Pox to implode. They've got their cup final next week...

Fulham, Charlton and Bolton would do me nicely. First 2 good london days out and I've not been to Bolton

Billy Bodin 2 in 10 minutes for Rovers as they push the Pox for second place in Lge 2. Surely its not yet too late for Pox to implode and blow promotion yet again

I thought Billy a very promising player with us, and his goals-to-game rate wasn't far off Matt Ritchie's from a similar position. Good to see him making an impact, albeit with a team followed by knuckle-draggers.

I'm in Ireland at the moment and there was an article about ex Ireland manager Eoin Hand. In his list of clubs played for it listed Swindon. Anyone know anything about him?

I'd prefer Brentford to go down than Fulham..

I am sure Reg and a few of the older posters here will be able to tell you a bit more, but I know he never played first team for us back in the mid 60's but I do remember him playing for Pompey against us a few times, big old lump of a centre back.

Here's a post of mine from 2008 on the subject.....

Speaking of Hands, the subject of those that got away often crops up and it reminded me of Eoin Hand.

He was a big strong Irish centre half, who we brought over from Drumcondra, around 64 as an 18 year old...this was Bert Head time and he and his staff could spot a player.

Hand never made it past the stiffs, which was a shame as we struggled for a centre half at the time.  He went back to Drumcondra, came over to Pompey a couple of years later, and played over 250 games for them and gained about 18 or 19 ROI caps.

Later still he ended up managing the ROI, before Jack Charlton, and now works as a pundit for RTE.

Remember that Pompey team with Hand in Reg. We had some good battles with them in the old Div2 remember john Milkins in goal and Ray Pointer, Norman Piper and I seem to remember the Cup Final winner Mike Trebilcock at the end of his career.

Not a player but Di Canio is playing in the Mark Noble testimonial on BT Sports now.

Not sure why they are even showing it to be honest. Its not as if he is a great of the game.

Totally meaningless but I'm quite enjoying it. John Moncur is on now. Steve Lomas is there as well*
