I went to saw Portsmouth v Ipswich last night. Gary Roberts had a great game and show his class/experience. Giles Coke came on for Ipswich.

The former a decent player, when fit.

Pompey played well and have got some good players. Their fans were in good voice as usual and created a really good atmosphere. Pompey v Muff in the next round should be a good game as should the game against the Pox they have this Saturday.

Yeah they've got decent support to be fair - does Danny Hollands still play there?

I think so but struggling to get in the team under Cook. A lad who works for me is a massive fan so he keeps me up to date whether I want to know or not  Grin

As you say a well supported club and a strangely appealing old style ground.

We went as a mark or respect to my recently deceased father in law who was a season ticket holder for decades. Quite poignant that they won seeing he listened to the first game on the radio in hospital.

Strangely appealing as in scary as fuck on a dark midweek night?

I remember walking into the Pompey rather tiddly singing 'D-d-d-d-d-Dave Bamber!' (to the tune of La Bamba) and thinking it was going to end badly! Fortunately it didn't!!

Was that the league cup game? I think we won 3-1 or 3-2 first leg. Would have been 80 something.

It's a ground that has a soul - you can sense the history there as you walk in. However the wooden flooring still make me feel a little uncomfy.
