Agree bit of bugger...but the only reason I got Sky.  No interest in the greed league, but couldn't live without Test cricket.  Tried it for the one year, and life just wasn't right.

In 5 years' time, Reg, you'll be lucky if Test cricket as you now know it still exists.

Well Test cricket started in 1876, has survived 2 world wars and various political crises, so think there's  bit of life in the format yet.

I agree. Despite losing the 3rd test it was fascinating how the balance of power swung on 3 or 4 occasions. You don't get that in ODI's, and certainly not in T20.

I personally love the coverage on Sky - as always I think they get it so much better than the Beeb and others....

I say put ALL live sport on SKY - they do things properly :)

Hmmm... I guess that may not be a popular point of view..........

True - but games do evolve as well.  Any form of bowling other than underarm was outlawed by the MCC until the 1820s...just one of many fundamental changes in the game.  I'm sure there will be more.

I sense a permanent shift in the game during the next few years.  In particular, the spectacle of county cricket matches being played during weekdays in front of deserted stands will soon be a thing of the past, I think.

Bar missing the legend that is Benaud, I'd say Skys cricket coverage is miles better than Channel 4. Only drawback being the walking hyperbole that is Mark Nicholas (not everything is 'simply staggering' you cunt) has been replaced with the equally annoying Colville.

I liked channel fours coverage better than skys, though im not sure why. It just seemed to fit better

I like it better too. Mainly because I don't have SKY.

Bumble is the jewel in the crown of SKY coverage. Hard to believe that he was once England coach.

I'd say Benaud.  Of course, with Sky you don't get messed around with racing (C4) or wimbledon(Beeb), and they do extend the programmes if play goes beyond standard hours. Add to that the full live overseas coverage and plenty of opportunities to see the highlights and I don't see how terrestrial can compete.

Sky do cover the cricket well, can't be many who'd disagree with them getting the deal on the basis of the quality product they offer.

But inspite of that its the wrong deal, again.Cricket needs to be on free to air tv,it needs to be available to everybody as unlike football it hasn't the media reach or the ability to hold the interest of the public.Sadly the ECB have sold out again, the fools.
