Not marketable enough to play for England.
Top English goal scorer and best goals to minutes ratio when the last squad was picked and he didn't get a look in
Yup. One can only hope that if he keeps scoring it'll be impossible not to give him the call. Got to be given a shot ahead of the likes of Vardy based on 2016/17 form.

The fact they made a film on him and have done books etc and now his missus writing columns in high profile magazines suggests he is i suppose

....because goal scoring is irrelevant. He doesn't have the big sponsorship deal, he's not in TV adds, he's not on advertising hoardings. You don't see products such as Nivea for men using him as their 'face'

Probably as he is the world first feral footballer, instead Nivea use those superstars Henderson and Lallana!

I used to think the same...when Big Sam took over I was genuinely intrigued to see his England team. Hoping that the attitude and selection focused on inform players with a bit more of a 'small club' mentality (for want of a better phrase) I was hoping for a robust, pragmatic side - basically moulding England into Big Sam's league clubs. Steady, effective and fully aware of its limitations, not trying to be something it clearly wasn't and couldn't be. Sam had done that at all his clubs.
Gets the England job, same formation as Hodgson, same players, same squad regardless of form. Now we have Southgate, did ok at Middlesborough, used a lot of young players, has been England U21 manager for a while, people expecting him to maybe give the youngsters a chance, hoping they are hungry for it. Same squad as Sam, same squad as Roy so on and so forth.

Nile Ranger signs 3 and a half year contract extension at Southend.
Could he be turning a corner and finally growing up?

The funny thing is, either of those explanations could be accurate.

Nile seems to do OK while he is playing to 'save his career' then job security rears its ugly head and then it all goes to shit again.
Expect a criminal charge, AWOL and departure before end of season....

Personally, I'd go down the coke route, but then that's probably why I'm not a pro-footballer to begin with. That, and I'm fucking shite.

I do hope he sorts it out there.
He may be a dick. But I think that it's more out of stupidity than nastiness. He always just seemed to be a little childish/child-like when he was here. Obviously he's done some unsavoury things, but I don't get the feeling that he's a deliberately awful and malicious person. Seems like he's getting it right now, so good luck to him.
