Well, that sounded crap, asides from some positive spells.

Hopefully having a physical striker on the pitch will help fix it, can't expect much with only midgets playing up front.

And so we roll on from one season to the next, lots of possession but overwhelmed by a more powerful side.

At least a goal for the newbie

If 4 of your more powerful players are injured its always going to be tough. Put Branco/Jones/Obika/Norris in the team, Thomas back in Mid instead or Rogers and the team looks very different. We are still light and we need that forward and CB in as much as we did last week again now.

bugger. Norris loss bigger issue than the result.

I've moaned about 1 up front but I'd have brought Goddard on to try and control the midfield. Young  probably not a good idea up front on his own though.

typical town, play well v QPR then...Smiley

Wednesday night was a free hit....play well because the opponent wasn't full strength and the outcome didn't matter too much as an exit was expected.

Today's game mattered and the outcome was pretty predictable....probably a bit early to break out the alarm bell, but we really don't seem to have addressed last season's problems.  If you can't do basic defending you're not going to win too many games.

Williams: weak and pathetic looking at times. lacked energy, lacked derive until too late. to easy to blame it in Wednesday.

told players he was shocked. expected a dip or two but not to that extent.

on team changess: we have a squad. looked at amount of running brophy did, would be irresponsible to play him. Jordan Stewart showed us everything we were missing. pleased for furlong.

Norris had done ankle, won't know more until swelling is down..

delfonso- been in touch with him, he has been out for a while...bugger my radio battery died... what did he say?

My gut instinct is that we won't see Branco or Jones any time soon. Obika frailty is a concern, maybe he might improve if still here on Sept 1.

So we have the rest of the window to sort something out.  Last season we got 8 points in August, which was a big help in us staying up, as when we dropped into the bottom 2 we never became detached.  A similar return for this August looks a bit unlikely.

Williams confirms we are trying to sign Delfouneso and that Paul Crichton is likely to leave as he's had an offer from an academy in the States.

No need to hit the panic button yet, one win and one defeat? Exactly mid table as it stands, plenty of teams made worse starts.
