Karl Hawley is out of contract in Carlisle - would be worth every penny, but I doubt we'd get him... He's the best striker available on a free in the whole of England if you ask me....

Carlisle also released Derek Holmes, who is a useful Fallon-esque striker (target man), if we could get him cheap. Bit of a back-up striker.

One thing I like about Sturrock is that he likes to get the players in to suit his game and not the other way round. Hopefully if he can get those players in we'll have a team that plays on the same wavelength

Danny Graham bagged 7 in 11 for carlisle, so arguably a better prospect if we could afford him.  he's only young though so never say never!

First friendly isn't until July 15... So, we've got around 65/66 days of rumour milling.

Andy Monkhouse was our first signing last summer on the 22nd June ... I seem to remember a restless TEF long before then!

Should be fun  Wink

For the record - Sheffield Wednesday have been releasing players today. So these are the obvious players we will be linked to from early on.

1) Barry Corr - Obviously.
2) Steve Adams - Already linked with us.
3) Chris Adamson - Goalkeeper therefore not needed.
4) John Hills - Defender signed by Sturrock (270 league apps overall)
5) Andy Broadbent - Huh?

Danny Graham is too young, we don't stand a chance - and he's on loan from Middlesborough (they won't sell)

Karl Hawley was League 2 Player of the Season and has scored 53 in 130 games for Carlisle - Sign him for 2 years and if he's shit someone would buy him at the end of the season....

Actually he was born in Walsall - I wouldn't be surprised if they went for him...

The Plymouth fan at work seems to think that Sturrock will go and sign Hasney Aljofree as he is out of contract this summer and he also bought him to Plymouth from Dundee Utd.

A few names:

Lee Hughes (Possible prison release in August)
Paul Murray
Barry Conlon
Steve Lomas
Nathan Lowndes (Sturrock favourite)
John McGreal
Paul McVeigh
Micheal Reddy
Michael Ricketts
Marc Bircham

If we sign any of those has-been, Championship-at-their-best players I shan't be impressed.

I thought Conlon worked his socks off for Mansfield against us, and would offer an experienced presence up front.

I think Sturrock can bring in much better than Barry Conlon to be honest.

Banged a few in last season on loan, would be a decent signing I reckon. Might end up at a better club though
