Sepp Blatter has just had a go back at Rio

*crunches popcorn*

Is that really the old duffer's real twitter account?  "The black man 'as you call him'" is that meant to mean something?

This is the Ferdinand tweet he was referring to, hasn't been deleted either;

Quote
Fifa clear up the blatter comments with a pic of him posing with a black man..I need the hand covering eyes symbol!!

Shows how dumb Blatter is, getting in to a slanging match with Ferdinand on twitter. Interestingly, Ferdinand has 8 times as many followers as Blatter.

Sorry I should have been a little more clear in my post.  Is Blatter trying to belittle Rio or at least try and deflect Rio's comments by trying to make something out of the fact Rio referred to the bloke Blatter was hugging as a 'black man'.

People like this always seem to retain power, this will be brushed under the carpet as taken "out of context"/"miss-quoted"

Definitely, I would be very surprised if he was unseated because of this.

All good ammo for the future though, every little bit of hysteria counts. Hopefully in the future when something else happens the pressure will grow even more.

Is referring to a black man as "a black man" racist?

For what it's worth, Blatter is still a cunt of the highest order

The old cunt will survive as usual because there are going to be enough ethnics kissing his ringpiece and hoping for a bit of the action ala Jack Warner albeit he's gone.
Money talks and the FIFA gravytrain will roll on.

Don't think anyone actually thought he would resign over this did they?

We're leading the charge on racism in football and you often feel others don't really give a fuck. You only have to look at the near continual abuse our players face across Europe and the slaps on the wrist given as punishment rather than anything meaningful.

The only reason FIFA speak out against racism is to play the game and because they know they'd be in deep shit if they didn't. Doesn't mean they really want to do anything about it.

This whole event has barely raised an eyebrow in the European press... so this certainly hasn't damaged Blatter in the slightest bit, if anything its made him despise the 'English' that little bit more.

If he can survive his association having corrupt members on his watch a bit of sweeping racism under the carpet isn't going to bother him.

His high (or low) point was getting away with buying votes for the presidency with cash in brown envelopes in plain sight.

Think he explained it as being "an advance of monies due to the associations".

He might be a cunt but he has taken bullet proof to a whole new level. When he retires from FIFA he'll be able to make a fortune advising politicians on how to survive scandals intact.
