We're all different... if stuck in traffic jam and someone said, here's the way out right now for £60, I'd take it.

Bus pass to Oxford...£17:55 return to Paddington.
Which is my point. Why is it so expensive from Swindon? Even the same train going through didcot, split the travel and its £25 cheaper. How?!! Yes I can understand high prices on a weekday, but on a weekend it should be cheaper especially for families.

The fare splitting thing is annoying - it makes no sense, naughty algorithm's
I do think the train prices generally stack up though - you'd not get into Paddington in an hour by car, so my guess would be you are comparing against the outer reaches, but you'd have to get a tube in then, add that cost and the travel time, or drive all the way in which could take 2 hours even at the weekend. There is some cost of convenience to allow for basically. Kids under 5 are free, and 5-15 half price, so a bit of scouting on singles or specific train times and you cn usually get it down a bit as well.

Which is exactly where the Eton-educated careerist wants you.

Insect bites. I'm a walking buffet for the little shites, currently got a nice swollen bite on the back of my leg starting to blister up. Got bitten on the knee by a horsefly at Castle Combe a few weeks back, still hurts now. Pricks.

Which is exactly where the Eton-educated careerist Fortnum and Mason Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (I won't call him that other name on principle) wannabe wants you.
Edited for you He would not have said it if he thought he could not get away with it, which sadly says more about the present state of the Country than anything else. The fact that he feels that by saying this it will make him popular with the membership rather gives a steer of the direction of travel of that party. His happiness to introduce such nonsense into the mainstream just empowers more extreme followers to do things like this https://metro.co.uk/2018/08/07/racist-thugs-spray-paint-no-ns-black-familys-new-house-7807092/The defence being rolled out by the faithful (whilst secretly savouring their viewpoints being made mainstream) is merely making full use of the right wing playbook, Deliberately say something offensive about a minority Call those offended "snowflakes" Pretend to be victim of censorship Now YOU'RE the victim, not the minority you abused. However special mention in dispatches for whoever was responsible for the front page of the i today.... Jolly good work

And the workers consistently fall for the populist appeals of the ruling class. There was a reason Marx said that the revolution would never happen in Britain.

I got a few bites at the start of this hot spell, so delved into the medicine cabinet and found some out of date relief lotion.... semed to work fine, but thought I'd get some up to date stuff in anticipation of becoming a hexapod banquet... haven't used it yet

Seems to be a particularly bad year for Horse Fly's up here, both the missus and a friend who are normally fine have both been bitten repeatedly and the bites swell up like hell.
