Title: Re: Friday Quiz 05092014 Post by: blah blah on Friday, September 5, 2014, 09:38:28 18. 4 silver guineas each (they shared the food equally) No, thats wrong. As there are 8 loaves, and three men, think of it in thirds of a loaf. If the food is split equally, each man ends up with 8 thirds of a loaf. Man 1 brought 9 thirds to the party, man 2 brought 15 and man 3 none. So man 1 ends up 1 third down, man 2, 7 thirds down and man 3 8 thirds up. So he should give 1 guinea to man 1 and 7 guineas to man 2. Title: Re: Friday Quiz 05092014 Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, September 5, 2014, 09:42:54 What about 19 then?
