So the answer is, stay away fans start turning up so the club gets more money, so our turnover increases so Paul Ince can play for us. Everybody wins then.

But they won't turn up until Ince signs (not that it's guaranteed they will), so he won't sign.

Its all a bit Bill and Ted. We need Eddie Van Halen.
I think it would have been easier to fund if they turned up last year but that'sv ery easy to say with hindsight! A couple of big gates now isn't going to make up the money we need!

I'm now of the opinion, that it would be for the best if Ince doesn't sign....

I think I'm inclined to agree.

didn't Chester go over the 60% thing? they only got fined so it wouldn't be the end of the world if that happens to us

But knowing the way we get treated by the FA, we'll end up getting demoted 12 divisions.

Different rules seem to apply to Swindon.

All this is doing is putting uncertainty on the players with regards to wages etc. and whether they may be shipped out on loan etc.  They don't need that concern, especially as moral has been so high and they have done so well.

I guess he could have taken a cut for his antics.  Gurns is the obvious choice as far from fit and just sitting dormant on the wage bill.

I'd agree with that too. Its not worth all the fuss, and potentially fucking up our finances, just for someone who will only play a handful of games. It's not as if we're struggling at the moment is it. If evans/pook/weston/whoever gets injured wise will have to get his boots on - we have plenty of options in there.

Havcing read the BBC article, which discusses how Hartlepool sorted it out, I'm guessing it's a case of waiting for Bill Power to release a small amount and for it to be specifically towards wages - and thus we have to show that to the FL.

Disagree with these last few posts (RobT excluded) Ince would still be a massive asset for us.

Its not that he wouldn't be a huge asset though, its the impact its having or could be having on the current players and the club.

Don't you think it may have a divisive effect on the squad...also Gus, might be a bit put out......if we have a bit of spare BP money then surely we should be looking to invest it in a young player whose value may augment with time..

Ince would be a big asset to us, but no more than Wise/Poyet would be if they actually played.

All I care about this year Reg is getting promoted.  If that means we have to sign an old head instead of a youngster then so be it.

Ince will be an amazing player at this standard, other teams will be shitting it at the prospect of facing him, especially as we're un-defeated.

I think Wisey will be able to explain the signing to the players and Ince will be another man to impress in training and on the pitch.
