I have a bad feeling we'll get a really good draw and lose the replay.

One of the big teams away would be excellent, a good pay day, possible TV coverage.

Man Utd, Spurs or Arsenal for me

I'd really like a London side away. One of the bigger ones though. Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea would be nice. Assuming we actually beat Crawley that is.

It's a home tie against a Championship club.
Could be better but could be worse

Still have to beat Crawley yet though

Pretty poor draw really but at least its at home.

Derby are doing well this season, it will be a real tough game....providing we beat Crawley next week that is.

Post by: Rich Pullen on Sunday, November 28, 2010, 18:17:14
I'll be looking forward to this if we got through. We'd be the underdogs (how our players seem to prefer it) again and there's no way Nigel Clough will be happy with that draw.

Plus we haven't played them in a competitve fixture 15 years.

Title: Re: FA Cup draw....6 oclock.

Anyone who thinks Derby is an exciting draw should probably get out more.

Yeah I don't see what all the negative thoughts are for. It's not that bad a draw. A home draw is always a good draw. Against a bigger club in a higher division. OK it's not Chelsea or Man U but who cares? I actually think it's winnable if we can get past Crawley. A chance to get to round 4 for the first time in years.

Derby have lost 5 away already this season.  Their home record is decent.

A tough draw but a winnable.  No chance if there were a replay.

Bit of a Meh tie. As said, could have been worse. But whilst they are a reasonably sized club you'd prefer a Prem team away :)

I bet Crawley are well up for some of that though. Got to get through the replay first.

It's a classic mistake to assume you're through, because you're at home for the replay v a non-league side. I don't think we should worry too much about the next round until we're in it.

Crawley seem stronger away from home..and there's not much between the sides.

On an aside......is the home match with Crawley live on ESPN, I know that ITV and often BBC have a policy of covering replays when the original live game ended in a draw.

I wouldn't think the replay will be live with Fc United v Brighton and Luton v Charlton also being played.
As long as we beat Crawley, I'm happy with Home v Derby.

Bournemouth v Notts County

Replays..

Swindon v Crawley
FCUM v Brighton
Charlton v Luton
Hereford v Lincoln

Correct. I'm sure that ESPN only showed two replays, and they'll pick the Luton v Charlton and FCUM v Brighton.

I agree with you. A home tie with a fairly decent crowd, should be a good day out.

O.K. we didn't get Man Utd, Chelsea etc but the thought of Burnley or Preston away etc would have been awful.

So a home tie to a club with average home gates (this season) of >25,000 and currently 4th in the Championship is a shit draw?

Get a fucking grip. Carlisle or Hartlepool away qualify as shit draws (although I'm sure Pullen would argue the latter, possibly both).

Still, never mind, it might never happen......

Whilst we might all have wanted one of the big Prem teams,it's a decent enough draw
providing of course we beat Crawley in the replay.

The two things that i'll be interested in seeing are firstly, the level/quality that we'll need
if and when we can get back into the Championship, sooner rather than later!

Secondly, how Charlie copes against Championship defenders.

2 very interesting points there. I think there will be quite a few people outside the club that will be taking an interest in the second point especially.

Well I guess I'll have to speak for the 80s "oldies" ::). I think we were 4th Div at the time and remember that stonking goal from the right-wing at the Town End (was it Hockaday?) mainly because one of their players went down injured as we scored and I uttered my funniest ever football quip: "What's wrong with him -shock?".  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

So how do you remember all this young Jonny?

I also remember the end of 91/92 when we played them last game of the season and we had very slim chance of getting into the play-offs and they had a chance of going up so they cut our ticket allocation to 200. Managed to get a ticket tho (Thanks for camping out all night Gaz)

Adult v Crawley:
£20 (£18 in advance). Arkells.
£16 Town End.
U10's free with Jr red membership.

They are a bit steep for it only being Crawley. Will go in the TE I thinks.

I'll be listening to this one on the radio at home also. Finances are a touch tight due to Christmas sadly, so not sure I can afford the £18, and certainly can't delude myself into justifying it for Crawley Town.

Come along to the Samung win a pro thingy instead. It's free  if you're a Club Red member or ST holder, and you'll get to see our first signing from the next transfer window in action! :-)

Love the cup...i will be there.

I would hate to miss it, as I haven't missed a home game for about 4 years, but the thought of being in that stinking, fetid, piece of shit, in the cold, surounded by total mongs, is really putting me off.

I suppose I could wrap up extra warm and sit in the Arkells though........
