Pretty poor draw really but at least its at home.

Derby are doing well this season, it will be a real tough game....providing we beat Crawley next week that is.

I'll be looking forward to this if we got through. We'd be the underdogs (how our players seem to prefer it) again and there's no way Nigel Clough will be happy with that draw.

Plus we haven't played them in a competitve fixture 15 years.

Yeah I don't see what all the negative thoughts are for. It's not that bad a draw. A home draw is always a good draw. Against a bigger club in a higher division. OK it's not Chelsea or Man U but who cares? I actually think it's winnable if we can get past Crawley. A chance to get to round 4 for the first time in years.

Derby have lost 5 away already this season.  Their home record is decent.

A tough draw but a winnable.  No chance if there were a replay.

Bit of a Meh tie. As said, could have been worse. But whilst they are a reasonably sized club you'd prefer a Prem team away :)

Not sure if I've seen us play Derby, I can't remember. Will be a tough game, they've got some good players.

 It's a classic mistake to assume you're through, because you're at home for the replay v a non-league side. I don't think we should worry too much about the next round until we're in it.

On an aside......is the home match with Crawley live on ESPN, I know that ITV and often BBC have a policy of covering replays when the original live game ended in a draw.

I think there are only 6 replays and one original tie left to play, but my adding up lately is a bit shit!

I wouldn't think the replay will be live with Fc United v Brighton and Luton v Charlton also being played.
As long as we beat Crawley, I'm happy with Home v Derby.

Didn't we play them in the cup back in the late 80's / early 90's? At home when we were in the 3rd (or 4th) and they were 1st or 2nd? Peter Shilton was in goal for them and he got beaten by a cross / shot. Think we got a result, draw or a win.

The Sunday game was a lge match...think we went 1 up but lost 2-1 i think....remember Kitson(ex Leicester)was playing for them...good striker.

We beat Derby in the LC in '94 on our way to the semis.

I think it was McMuck's first game in charge.

We also beat them on route to the 69 final.....league cup i know.

Whilst we might all have wanted one of the big Prem teams,it's a decent enough draw
providing of course we beat Crawley in the replay.

The two things that i'll be interested in seeing are firstly, the level/quality that we'll need
if and when we can get back into the Championship,sooner rather than later!

Secondly,how Charlie copes against Championship defenders.

Decent enough draw. I can remember the 4-2 beating at home in the early 90's and meeting Jimmy Greaves at the Baseball Ground.

i remember us playing derby around 89-90ish at the county ground with shilton in goal.cannot remember the score or anything about the game at all.i just remember they packed the away end,pelted us in the shrivvy road with coins and were climbing up the railings.

I also remember the end of 91/92 when we played them last game of the season and we had very slim chance of getting into the play-offs and they had a chance of going up so they cut our ticket allocation to 200. Managed to get a ticket tho (Thanks for camping out all night Gaz)

They are a bit steep for it only being Crawley. Will go in the TE I thinks.

That does seem quite steep for non-league opposition  :eek: I was half expecting prices nearer the JPT price scheme (naive I know!)...

Think both teams have to come up with the pricing structure in the Cup.

Wouldn't surprise me if we wanted to reduce prices but Crawley didn't.

To be fair my ticket for the Town End will be £1 cheaper than the ticket I paid for at Crawley so that suits me fine.

I was expecting something around £12.00-13.00 Town End £15.00-17.00 main stand (for season ticket holders and non-season ticket holders, And free for One Club or Club Red members :D ok that last bit was a joke), very steep for non league opposition.

I think you can safely say this is all down to Crawley. I think they want us to fund their 'Project Promotion'. Last seasons game against Woking was about £12.

I'll be listening to this one on the radio at home also. Finances are a touch tight due to Christmas sadly, so not sure I can afford the £18, and certainly can't delude myself into justifying it for Crawley Town.
