But they have been excellent, the only negative was a pretty poor challenge by Johnny Smith after about 10 secs.

Looking at those fixtures I think we still need 4 more wins to secure the title. 2 more wins should see us get promotion as I think Torquay will pick up 10 points from their last 6 leaving a gap of 5 points.

Turkey have a big few games coming up.

Though they're all difficult at this stage of the season :)

Torquay's run in looks the toughest with Oxford, Southend and Crewe whereas Crawley's looks relatively straightforward but the impact of their suspensions may take it's toll. You would fancy Shrews to still come good with 4 at home. Would love to see Crawley slip into the play offs and pay the price for their histrionics all season. All of these can only get a max of 93 so the 4 wins from 7 for us should be enough to secure the title.

Cracking result tonight. 5 points clear at this stage is huge, especially with a tough away game on Friday. Win that and we're laughing.

Anything notable from Paolo?

McEveley really showed his class tonight. Slip Caddis back into that back five and it looks superb. He would be a top signing.

Like a lot of people I raised an eyebrow at the selection, but Paolo wins - we won.

Every season we'll debate selection. This year it is exacerbated by having so many viable options and a rotation policy. I'm not a Murray fan, but he took his goal very well. Likewise, I think De Vita is limited, but in the first half he looked good.

Hats off to all of them tonight. Solid without being spectacular.

Not a game of total football by any stretch, but we did what we had to do to win. We were assured at the back and although I thought Flint looked a bit rusty, it was good to have the 'little and large duo' back together again. I thought the full backs were immense, JM in particular is looking like a must keep for next season, I've been impressed by him so far.

I do not think Thompson is ready for first team football, his first touch is that of a rapist and although he had half a chance on goal towards the end, he mainly just gave the ball away via a flurry of flailing limbs.

These are my good and bad points in a pretty average game of football, Onwards and upwards.

Not read through yet but that was as comfortable a 3 points as you'll ever see. And to do it without Ritchie, Caddis and Ferry (and Homles) is a great sign for the team.

Barnet's not an easy place to go as our recent record there shows but the win was never in doubt tonight.

Impressed with McEveley who showed some class touches whilst being very solid but still far from convinced by Risser as a footballer.

Good, loud support and I didn't hear any booing. Paolo's celebrations were as good as ever.

Second half we just saw the game out.

Very professional performance, and a special mention to the linesman on our side, who got virtually every decision wrong because he was so far behind play.

Hard to pick out a MOTM, as they were all solid to be honest

Pleased for Murray, the goal helped him & had one of his best games.

Have to say when the team was announced was a bit surprised with the line up, but they played very well in the first half, and then just saw the game out in the second half.

Looks like Barnet are rather despairing.

This was a 'job done' match. Did the biz no less and very much no more as the match spluttered to a lunking competition which barnet just about won.

3 points closer to the escalator for us but I reckon it's between Hereford, barnet and Macclesfield who go down.....one of those will be very lucky to survive!

I like us being described as a cacophony.

I love the way that those Barnet fans who thought Sanchez was the messiah earlier on in the season, now realise what a Cunt he is.

Indeed. Sooner he's axed and Grazioli is in the better for them. Still remember the game at our place when Sanchez just sat down the entire game looking bored. Even the Arkells standers behind him showed more enthusiasm than he did!

Reckon they are selling themselves a little short - McLeod missed a great chance at the end of the first half and I would say they had a decent amount of possession in the second half.

Great show by the back 4 tonight with Devera MOM for me-dealing with Barnet's best player.

We did a job tonight and had a couple more gears to move up to if needed.

McEveley was superb and definately joint MOM with Alan Mac. When he's fully fit he will be a mother fucker of a signing for us - assuming we can afford him.

I know it was only Barnet we were playing, but we didn't really miss Holmes or Ritchie half as much as I though we would. In Rooney and DeVita we still had plenty of balance and shape, which caused them problems all night when we got the ball out to them.

PDC's hand-signal lecture at the end was maybe the ice breaker we and he all needed, but I worry that he's become personally insulted by the recent booing.

I hope he's not going to act like a fucking pussy everytime he gets a bit of frustrated stick from the fans though. If he doesn't realise it himself, someone in the club should spell it out for him that last Saturdays booing of his choice of substitution was just bourne out of frustration.

His contract is up at the end of year isn't it? So will be on a free assuming we can afford his wages..

He's here on loan with a view to a permanant signing ala Holmes so presumably if we like him and he likes us,he'll be joining the revolution in the summer

Well if he does have an attitude problem then I think it's a good way if seeing his true colours. If he knows what's good for him the toys will stay in the pram and he'll use that frustration for a worldy performance when he gets the opportunity.

He didn't play too much for the Wendies did he? I wonder if it is a case of bringing his fitness up a bit.

We have loads of games coming up in a short time frame. I am sure he will be needed.

McEveley was immense last night in both defensive and attacking phases, put in a couple of absolutely perfect balls in the box, one of which Risser put away.  I havent seen anything from Kennedy or Cibo to suggest they are capable of putting in a performance like McEveley did last night.

As someone else mentioned Nathan Thompson seems to have lost the abilty to control his arms, it like a string puppet.

Nice to see a comfortable win with the squad rotated. Keeps them all keen.

 Think Di canio has got too touchy over the booing. Don't like it as he is paid to make decisions but taking Connell off when Murray was utter shit on saturday is why fans got miffed.

Anyway after a 1.30 get in and work at 9am, the trip was well worth making...great to see an away win, we looked comfortable throughout and the guys who came in did their job!!!

Promotion should be secured with a couple more wins, and I look forward to celebrating the title away at the Pikies!

Great display from the defence and Wes. I wasn't too sure about McEveley up to now but he looked quality last night. Also pleased for Murray who played his best match for us to date.

If my maths is correct, then we could actually be promoted on Monday if Shrewsbury and Southend results go our way.

Your maths isn't correct - both Crawley and Shrewsbury, if they lose the next two (i.e. friday and monday) would be on 72 points with 5 to play. This could get them to 87 points. For Torquay, they would be on 75 with four to play, so also possibly 87. So it won't be monday for certain, but defo could be Plymouth.
