I've dreamt about the game the last 2 nights and today i've been properly nervous all day. This is the first time i've been so nervous about football, excusing Charlton away of course!

Yep. terrible sleep last night. Can't stop thinking about the game and quite frankly it terrifies me.

I really can't stand another 'Charlton away'. I felt emotionally drained after that game.

I struggled to sleep last night, although that was more due to the fact that something had gone wrong with my tickets! Thankfully it's all sorted now. I'm not nervous about the game at all - there's no pressure on us and I'm hoping to just take it as it comes. I might not be saying that by Saturday though...

Zero nerves. Not excited either.

I'm looking forward to the day though.

I'm very excited.  My sleepless night will be tomorrow, on the basis that I'm leaving home at 4.30am Saturday morning.

I've been on "x more sleeps till Wembley" all week. My kids are embarrassed at how excited I am!

I really can't stand another 'Charlton away'. I felt emotionally drained after that game.

I was only thinking the same thing today.  If I think back, I don't think I actually enjoyed any part of that game apart from the couple of minutes after Ward scored and obviously after Darby's penalthy went in, but the game was over then anyway!  I want to enjoy the game on Saturday, but unless we go 3-0 up in the first 15 minutes, I think I'll just be too nervous and feel sick throughout!

It's funny you should say that, because that's the way i described my feelings to a mate earlier.

Like joteddyred says, i think i'll just be feeling sick throughout. I found Charlton one of the most stressful experiences i've ever had. The intensity of my stress just rose and rose from the start of the day, until once the game kicked off i felt like a panicky nervous reck! :)

For the 90 minutes or whatever it ends up being, I'll be a nervous wreck.

But beforehand, I'm gonna have a great time and savour the day, and after I'm gonna get completely cunted regardless of the result.

Tis only a game and all that.

Wasn't thinking about the game at all until today. But it will build.

Thank fuck it's on a Saturday though, the Charlton away leg I couldn't function all morning. DMR wouldn't understand because he didn't go.

Pah! Going to football is shit anyway, punching your housemates every time your team gives the ball away for 120 minutes is where it's at.

agree with you entirely. Whilst ultimately charlton turned out to be my best night at football ever... EVER, that 120 minutes was the most sustained period of stress I've ever had to endure. Blood pressure went through the roof that night, and the life shortening experience was entirely worth it in the end :-)

three nil up after ten minutes would do me tomorrow.

but then this being swindon, doesn't guarantee a stress free experience either. THIS is why I love this club

Sleepless nights yep its getting worse, one more sleep now, one more sleep!

I've been nervous as hell all week.

First time I've seen Swindon at Wembley - couldn't go last time - so am proper nervous.

Ironically, I'll probably be okay when the game gets going 'cos I can shout then!

Think that if we can not allow ourselves to be bullied by  them- we will win. This will be the key ingredient between success and failure.

The wembley pitch should suit us as well- as they will find it harder to close us down so readily.

Title: Re: Any Sleepless nights yet ?

I agree with Bart. The wembley pitch should suit our expansive style of play better.

I keep waking up at 4:47 this leads me to believe we will score at 16:47 which should leave us with about 5 minutes left to play.

Yoy forgot to add on the extra 5 minutes which will seem like 5 hours to us and 5 seconds to the wall  :1st:

I had three dreams last time, each time I dreamt we won 1-0 last night.

Each dream ended up with my car getting nicked by some Millwall oik as well, which is wierd because I'm not even driving to London tomorrow.

Agree on the pitch.

It seemed better for the england game, at least players werent falling over every 5 seconds.

Its size SHOULD favour our passing game rather than millwalls stregth, size and agression

I'm sure if you'd forewarned the players of your pending play-off difficulties they would have put a bit more effort in against Exeter, Walsall and Wycombe and you wouldn't have had this problem.

It's weird I'm not feeling nervous at all yet, but in the days leading up to the Charlton game I was bricking it and like someone on here has said, didnt enjoy much of the Charlton game as I was so nervous throughout; when we scored and when Darby slotted his pen so weird emotional release I had seem to drain me, I was shattered after watching it.

It was like a release of having to watch Town for so long without a great deal to celebrate and now because of it I think I might actually enjoy going to Wembley...

...Bollocks. I fully expect the nerves to kick in as soon as I set off to Wembley tomorrow, but please please please not another 120mins...

Title: Re: Any Sleepless nights yet ?
Post by: juddie on Friday, May 28, 2010, 12:02:26
I'm with Ardiles on this one. I was terrible before both Charlton games, almost ill before the second leg and couldn't enjoy any of the game.

This is a different. This is bonus ball. Whatever happens, it'll be a decent day out on the smash, and incredible to see us take 30k+ to wemberley. If we lose, we'll be gutted, but it will have been an amazing achievement, and we will only get stronger next season - so still lots to look forward to.

I feel ok about tomorrow, more excited than anything else.

It's just going to be incredible. Still can't believe we're at Wembley! Hopefully the players will be more pragmatic than me, otherwise it could be rabbit in the headlights stuff. I keep forgetting we have a few lads who have been here and done it, which will help.
