Come on chaps...little over the top eh?
Blimey we all were one of those scally's once wasn't we...a fart bomb and some silly chants :gay:
Course it is embarasing to watch and hear but we all have acted similar especially with a few beers in us surely.
When our younger fans start abusing old woman or beating up pensioners then it is time for a good clip.......in the main we have got some good young fans.
After three,1-2-3...........Swindun,Swindun Ra,Ra Rahhhhhhh!
Sorry leefer, got to disagree a bit here. I will echo what football not longball said. I saw 3 fans being escorted away by the Old Bill or stewards. The frist was from just inside the home end I think, after they scored. Sounds like one of ours from what was siad earlier. The second was one of the young element who was arguing the toss and looked like he was back soon after. The third was the older bloke whe was being helped away by two of the Old Bill after he got caught up in the fuckwittery our fans instigated after a dodgy decision. I can understnd the anger over the decision because it was atrocious but, some of our fans just don't seem to give a flying fuck about how their actions impact on others. "We're Swindon Town and we do what we want"? Whoopee fucking shit.
As for the game-
Very poor and disjointed first half and a clear error by Risser leading to their goal. Not that Risser was the only person not up to speed. Many of the class players of recent weeks had poor games, or starts at least. McCormack, Ritchie, De Vita were all off their game to start with. McCormack pulled it back together and Ritchie had good moments. Bringing Gabilondo on for De Vita was a really good move and made a big difference to the game as did the switch between Ritchie and Smith. Connell worked hard and had some good moments but his poor finishing let him down badly. Foderingham was the dogs bollocks and if we were ever able to keep him, I think he could develop the legendary status of Saint Fraser of Digby (though I saw him put a kick into touch for the first time ever).
The two penalties looked stone bonkers to me. Connell gets flattened by a body charge from behind and Caddis is about to work his magic when suddenly his legs are out from underneath him. Hardly a surprise they weren't given though. Wimbledons defence must get training as a troop of acrobats as they spend a lot of time climbing all over the opposition. Jake spent most of his time in the final quarter of the pitch with someone climbing on his shoulders.
The BBC stats say it all-
Possession
AFC Wimbledon 41% Swindon 59%
Attempts on target
AFC Wimbledon 5 Swindon 4
Attempts off target
AFC Wimbledon 2 Swindon 8
Corners
AFC Wimbledon 8 Swindon 7
Fouls
AFC Wimbledon 12 Swindon 6
It was ours to win......
As for the ground, I was with SWMBO in the front row behind our dug out. Yes the view was restricted. This could have been helped by Wimbledon sending someone out half an hour before kick off to run a squeegee or chamois leather over the plastic. The biggest obstruction to view was the condensation. Another ground with the fans tight to the pitch. The way I like it. A really ace view of the PdC show
Watching his reactions to misses, fouls etc was priceless. He wears his heart on his sleeve. As to not seeing the Caddis penaltey, the greif he gave the 4th official suggests he was being holding his toungue in the post match interview. Every time he thumped the dugout, those inside got showered with water dripping off the roof. All kept schtum though
As did the substitutes as he educated them on the errors of the ways of whoever made a mistake on the pitch.
Overall a good experience with a few negative points.
