Title: British Grand Prix
Post by: Luci on Friday, July 6, 2007, 14:22:45
Anyone going to this at Silverstone this weekend?

40,000 apparently turned up today just for practice session to see Lewis Hamilton!

Did pretty well today setting a best lap.

Would love to see a Brit win the British Grand Prix.  When was the last time that happened?

Went to the last two. Couldn't afford it this year really :( On the plus side I did win tickets to the air tattoo :)

Second practice driver/gap

1. Raikkonen/-
2. Massa/0.499
3. R Shumi/0.742
4. Hamilton/0.742
5. Tulli/0.828
6. Alonso/0.977

Hope the MacLarens are sandbagging or the Ferraris were running light.

I wouldn't take to much notice of the practice times, usually not indicative of qualifying. I think a Ferrari will win. Would be nice to see Nick Heidfeld/Ralf Schumacher or Nico Rosberg win but their cars are not upto the standard of the ferrari.

Now that the spy in the camp has been exposed I would assume Maclaren wins would be less than Ferrari

History is OK but get it correct, England on their own did not beat Germany in the wars. The allies did.
But you did however beat us in 1966 (with the help of a Russian again  )

OK

Enough is enough

Can I just say I apologise for my earlier comments

They were meant to be a bit of light hearted banter, but I realise that this is Friday night and I DO NOT want people jumping on this thread when they come back from the pub later on.

I fully understand if my banter was misconstrued for something else

Daucher

I'm sorry

If a mod could lock this before this gets out of hand I would appreciate it

I also didn't mean to offend anyone with my comment that another driver would win, don't worry I don't take offence at many comments about my nationality because I do expect it and in some way bring it on myself, that of which I cannot help because I am proud to be German.

Enjoy the grand prix

Well considering that
1) He had problems with the car
2) McLaren got the tactics wrong
3) It's his first season....

.....a 9th consecutive podium and 12 points clear in the Drivers' Championship isn't too bad a result for Hamilton!

Now don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with Lewis Hamilton as an individual, but I do wish the F1 commentators would just stop sucking his fucking dick constantly.

Thankfully I don't get access to the mainstream British media, and I can just imagine what they've been writing about recently. I fear for poor Lewis when the wheels start to fall off the wagon (no pun intended), and inevitably they will at some point.

I can't believe I want Ferrari to win this season, rather than support my currently successful countryman... :?

Title: British Grand Prix
Post by: Batch on Sunday, July 8, 2007, 20:40:06
I too think Ferrari will take the crown ultimately this season with Hamilton finishing 3rd or 4th, but I'd happily put up with the over inflated media attention a Hamilton championship win would bring.
