Is this a trick question? Because the actual answer to the OP's question is that we have never played Reading at the Madjeski.

For the 3-1 we had a significant following, rounded up outside the station then there was an escorted march back - due to buses refusing to run iirc.

We had a fair few in the home ends as well for the 3-1.

I managed to get through the cordon and got a bus. Good day that. Henderson for them, Graz, Kuffour and someone else (Invincible maybe?) for us. We sold out our allocation and Ruddock had a cracking game on the left of a back 3.

Me & my mate were in the home end that day, caught the train without my parents knowing, they would have gone fucking nuts!!

Didn't England actually draw with Greece?

As others have said, this is not quite right.  I watched the Greece game in Long's Bar that day with a group from London on a friend's stag weekend.  We had been planning to go to the game at the County Ground before the Greece game, but it was called off...as evidenced by this link from www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk which shows we had a blank weekend:

Looking at the mid-week games further down that list of results, I think I am right in saying that it was probably the Wrexham game (eventually played on Nov 27th) that was postponed.

...and for those who are concerned about our attendances these days, would be worth noting that the crowd that night was 4,127.

I recall luxuriating in the TE, Jan 02 v Notts C in a crowd of 3,800 odd.....it was fucking freezing, but so empty, could sprawl out over several seats, and still see the action.

It kind of reminded me of Div 4 80's stuff, when 3,000 was a big gate.

Remember sneaking off to watch a game during the 3 day week when games were played during the day in the week.
