David Miliband quits as vice-chair after Di Canio appointment.
Saying that, he's about to bugger off to the States.
On £300k per year. Did not see that advertised in the job section in the adver or Guardian. Jobs for the boys.

Ha. Even though Sunderland are in the Premier League, I think most would see Leeds as the bigger club. I wonder if Di Canio will regret not holding on for a day or so longer.

And probably less hassle...

I think PDC probably thrives on hassle.

Historically Sunderland are bigger than Leeds, having won 6 League titles to Leeds' 3. Sunderland have 2 FA Cups to Leeds' 1. Both have had lean times, resulting in roughly a collective 30 odd seasons in Div 2...Sunderland's best days were pre war, Leeds' 60's into 70's, with the Wilkinson blip in the last season before Prem, after they'd been in Div 2 for some years. di Canio has got himself the very definition of a sleeping giant.

Sunderland are the very definition of mediocre.
I would rather drink my own bath water than go and watch them

Ha. I saw them quite a lot under Roy Keane and Steve Bruce and they were very dull. Di Canio will have great fun with their budget. They will throw money at him.

Nevertheless, I daresay that having an owner who's worth a couple of billion $, will have got PdC's juices flowing.
