A good performance today - our first goal was a bit against the run of play, after that we were in charge and could have added another before half time. Second half we were better - their equaliser also came after we had a spell on top. We came back well from that and fully deserved the win.
I think Crewe were a good team for us to play in those conditions - they didn’t simply plant high balls at the edge of our box in the second half (as Newport would) which probably helped us. Ironically both teams had their best spells playing against the wind.
Benda’s save in the first half was crucial. Very good team performance, Yates, Rose and Broadbent in particular.  Well taken goals too.

Wellens said he told Doughty before the game that he's playing the full 90 and won't be coming off under any circumstances. He reckoned being in a frame of mind where he needs to play the full game helped him get through it.

Yeah. You'd think them scoring in the 84th minute, he would've been buoyed at the prospect of possibly scoring an equaliser. Very odd.

Tbf they were losing and he's already scored a hattrick and won there this season.

I've always found it interesting that HG Wells' War of the Worlds was set in and around Woking. I doubt Orson Welles, could have created mass hysteria there if he'd beamed his radio show to Surrey rather than New York.

(well, I like it)

I tried for something similar and this is much better. Hopefully of no use in a few days,  but I like it.

Yesterday was a cracking match, no point dragging up the same points as have already been made in the previous pages! The school kids in the DRS family section chanting VAR, VAR during the second half made me chuckle. Fair play to them, could hear they were singing quite a few times, most noise I've heard from the invited schools/teams section. Thought the atmosphere yesterday was bang on once we took the lead, didn't seem to drop much after we conceded either.
