I'm sure people would love it if, say, Vigouroux was replaced by Henry after 35 seconds only for the during-the-game injuries to start rolling in. Then I'm more than sure Williams would be largely deried and labelled a silly billy, wouldn't he?

Nope.

I take it the Irish Messi's just being rested? I'd have thought this would be an ideal opportunity to give him some game time

Just an observation, but being 50 plus I wouldn't expect to have my bollocks felt by some fucking jobsworth steward who has to "pat down" random away supporters.

There are a few clubs that still do this, ranging from Crawley to QPR.

High profile game, yes maybe.

Tonight, no way.

I hope we lose and go out.
Although this comp is a load of old knob cheese, I hope we win and that our recovering players get fitter and our strikers find the net. A sub-1000 crowd would be pleasing too.

aside from the shit comp itself factor, I was looking more at it being another chance to injure a defender and we need to be 100% rested ready for league games.

Fair enough that, Batch. It is definitely a risk, but it could also be good revision for Saturday's formation, And, we're quite capable of getting injuries during training.

The team put out against Rochdale looked on paper certain for a right gubbing, but somehow it came up with something totally unexpected. If we do get more injuries/suspensions as a result of tonight's game, any kind of result Saturday would be even more of a bonus, and having to play the likes of Smith and Iandolo might quieten the boo boys a bit (desperate straw clutching here).

Just had a thought: if we lose tonight and the performance is a bit crap, does anyone think it could be the final nail in the coffin for Luke?

From the Adver:

24' Norris is played in fantastically well by Goddard, but the Town striker halts his own progress, before passing the ball to nobody.

Classic. I really hope he scores tonight.

Nah, no chance. This is inconsequential on every level, even financial.

I'd say it would at least take a loss to Charlton, go out to Eastleigh and probably a couple of other league defeats before he's under pressure.

Fucking hell. Norris has scored. Maybe it WILL be the catalyst. Blood hope so.

Poor bugger.  That header that got disallowed the other night was just the type of luck you seem to get when its going against you.
