Mad max, convicts...

My initial thought...pic 3 looks like road across the Nulaboor Plain.....needs a bit more though

having seen Pisser's solution 4D.....it did need a bit more  :)

might have been a while coming up with that answer.

If the question means comic as in comedian the answer is Benny Hill

If it means comic as in The Beano I dont know

He has been in Scotland a bit this week so I wouldn't be surprised if it was Billy Connolly...trying to link himself to the Scots in any way he can.

With a name like Cameron, he must have some Scot in him.  I hated Dr Findley's Casebook.

BTW...think Jayo's answer to 8 is wrong....I'm going 6009

But 2 rotated 180 doesn't look like 2.

The question is a bit vague, isn't it?  I remember an old quiz question to do with Cameron picking "Ernie" by Benny Hill as one of his Desert Island Discs.  Probably doesn't fit this question, though.

Edit:  Oops, sorry Audrey!  Just spotted you already gave this.

Right, comics from my era as a kid (I'm slightly younger than Cammy)

Buster
Dandy
Beano
Whizzer and Chips
Eagle
Commando
Er...can't remember any more.
What was Korky the cat in?  :sherlock:

Somewhat ambiguous, but I'm going for a comic character rather than a comedian....got to be Lord Snooty, on whom Cameron has based his life

8. Obviously it's 2002.

I thought it meant next time from now, not from 1961.

Reg, think of the characters on a digital clock if it helps.

8. The question states that 1961 was the last time it happened, so in my eyes, that means you cannot use the digital version of 2 (otherwise 2002 would have been the last time), and if you arent using 2, you cant use 5 either. So the next time it happens must be 6009

But the question doesn't mention "book", just "comic hero" - although I like Reg's Lord Snooty analogy.  I'd go with Benny Hill.

Why?  There's nothing wrong with the Q19 format.  It's usually one of the toughest questions - and the most fun.  I just got lucky with this one because, when I saw the 5th pic, I started singing the song to myself.  After that, 'Brass in pocket' and 'Kid' stood out and then the other two quickly fell into place.  Next time, I probably won't have a scooby.   :)
