x - y to Swindon.

Where x = 2 and y = 1.

We will snatch it at the death after going 1 down in the opening 10.

One of Oldham's twin towns in Landsberg in Bavaria, Germany. A certain Adolf Hitler was detained there and it is where he wrote Mein Kampf. I think STFC will struggle to a 1-0 win tonight.

Makes sense, as Churchill was MP for Oldham....

2 - 1 win Power to run down the line towards the Town end and slide on his knees celebrating a 90th minute winner
He's gonna watch from the stand, so it'll be even funnier to witness!

Occasionally you get a comedy result in a shit season.....I remember the demise from Div 2 campaign, when we beat Blackburn 2-1. They had a side stocked with players who'd racked up shed loads of Prem games, many of whom used to be walking answers to quiz questions like Ashley Ward and Nathan Blake.

Others like Jason Wilcox, had played in their Championship side....we had Frazer McHugh.

Lurking in the Rovers ranks though was Simon Grayson...who up until May must have dreaded the sight of STFC as both player and manager....Grayson obliged with a comedy OG, and Frazer sensibly just hoofed the ball up for George Ndah to chase to some effect.

Track record versus Oldham recently does not make for good reading. Will take a point with our depleted squad. Probably down to the bare bones with the crowd as well due to Champions League on TV and why the Football League arrange it so is beyond me.

Something pre- and post-match with Hodgetts and Alan Mac, apparently.

Don't we always draw 2-2 with Oldham, or is that just a painful memory.

Probably wouldn't be a bad result tonight

Remember they scored a cracker last season - followed by an equally good one from Andy Williams

Roger Palmer *shudder*

I'd settle for a repeat of the game in 66, when we beat them 6-3 at the CG....the Don getting a hat-trick, the joint highest aggregate scoreline at the CG, I'd ever seen, until May.

I don't think Lee will settle for less.

Imagine if we win and inept and crass becomes the official thread starter and we win every game for the rest of the season.

Already looking forward to the lighthearted banter and anecdotes.
