this is in no way blowing my own trumpet but we have just got back from a week in porto santo and the amount of compliments we got about our little boy and our parenting with him was really nice.

I also hope we've made the right choice. It will be interesting to see how they results differ for this year under the new Head and leadership team. Can't be any worse than last year! I'm sure they'll improve, but it's going to take a while for him to get rid of the dead wood teaching wise. Give it another year or two .. We can only choose what we think is for the best, what we see now isn't necessarily going to be so in the crucial 3-5 years time when GCSEs kick in. Also hard to tell much from an open day. isambard had by far and a way the worst of those!

RWB are very highly thought of, from what I can gather. We're part of the North Wilts Federation (along with Bradon Forest, Devizes and the other Chippenham schools) so we occasionally have joint training days. RWB have a brilliant Sixth Form block too, it's basically a lecture hall.

It kind of is blowing your own trumpet, but well-deserved trumpeting from the sounds of it so bask in the glow while you can

Random one: Last night I decided to change my run route slightly. I came across an estate with the following street names (in Fair Oak, Near Eastleigh, Hants): Dean Road, Anfield Close, Ninian Close, Roker Way, Trafford Road, Goodison Close, White Hart Road, Fratton Way, Elland Close, Selhurst Way & Eastville Close...
Something tells me the builders were football fans.
Although, I bet 'Fratton Way' didn't go down well to start off with.

We've been invite to a friend of my wife's partners 65th birthday party. He is ever so slightly minted and they've hired the Wurzels to play. ......I'll give you the keys............

Your wife has a partner and you all socialise together? How very open-minded of you.

I'd imagine such goings on are commonplace in deepest Wurzelland....usually in the same family, mind.

FFS !! Should've worded that better My wife has a friend and it is her partner's 65th. And I don't do car keys/bowls anymore - well not after the transit van key incident.
