you could say fitzroy simpson as he went on to captain his country i think and was in a world cup.

mcloughlin scored the goal to equalize against northern ireland (jimmy quinn scored for n ireland) and that meant his goal sent rep ireland to usa 94...thats bloody big when you think about it.

not that im arguing with you reg but in terms of things won did not summerbee win more caps for this country ..made the 1970 world cup squad won 4 trophys in 3 seasons and the greatest thing of all

starred in escape to victory with stallone,caine and pele Cheesy

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Bodin who fucked up Wales' chances of qualifying for the '94 World Cup good and proper by missing a penalty against some one or other.

 Most of the others mentioned aren't from Swindon though, Barlow is.

 Ernie was  Swindon boy....Rideout, despite growing up in Swindon wasn't born here.
