Title: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: magicroundabout on Friday, July 1, 2016, 14:09:43 do we have a sell on clause for Ritchie after his
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: Nemo on Friday, July 1, 2016, 14:10:10 No
Longer answer: No, because we sold him for up front cash to stop us going to the wall when neither Black (willingness) nor Jed (ability) would plug the gap Easy to get angry about it now, but better to have a club than a liquidated company holding a sell on clause to pay back its creditors... Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: magicroundabout on Friday, July 1, 2016, 14:10:41 REALLY!!!!!!
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: magicroundabout on Friday, July 1, 2016, 14:11:45 No (longer answer: No, because we sold him for up front cash to stop us going to the wall when neither Black (willingness) nor Jed (ability) would plug the gap) just our luck Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: Chubbs on Friday, July 1, 2016, 14:18:33 Wasn't there sometime similar with Southampton and Bale?
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: Sippo on Friday, July 1, 2016, 14:23:40 We get 50%. Power has spent it already on coke and whores.
Is it getting tedious yet? Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: DiV on Friday, July 1, 2016, 14:24:08 Wasn't there sometime similar with Southampton and Bale? They allowed Spurs to buy out Bale's sell on clause for I think it was 2m and goal keeper Tommy Forecast. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: pauld on Friday, July 1, 2016, 14:24:29 Wasn't there sometime similar with Southampton and Bale? Similar but IIRC Southampton initially had a sell-on then sold it back to Spurs for not very much (but enough to pay a couple of pressing bills/creditors) when they were in danger of going tits-up under Rupert Lowe.Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: Nemo on Friday, July 1, 2016, 14:28:02 In fairness to Saints, I think Bale was still in his left back and remarkable bad luck talisman stage back then - wasn't it a ridiculous record like they didn't win a game when he started for two years or somesuch?
He improved a little bit after that of course. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: THE FLASH on Friday, July 1, 2016, 15:38:19 Fucking shocking if we get fuck all.....but not surprising..
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: Arriba on Friday, July 1, 2016, 16:27:26 Why has he moved anyway? Was decent in the premier league for ballmouth. Surprised he's gone to be honest.

Title: Re: Post by: FormerlyPlymRed on Friday, July 1, 2016, 16:47:59 I'd rather play in front of 50000odd at Newcastle in the Championship than 15000 at Bournemouth in the PL. Huge step up in teams imo
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: Nemo on Friday, July 1, 2016, 16:53:00 I'd move from Bournemouth to Newcastle in a heartbeat, regardless of their current divisions
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, July 1, 2016, 18:02:00 I'd rather play in front of 50000odd at Newcastle in the Championship than 11,469 at Bournemouth in the PL. Huge step up in teams imo Corrected ;)Title: Re: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: FormerlyPlymRed on Friday, July 1, 2016, 18:42:26 Corrected ;) Haha i thought it was more like that but I was feeling generous!Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: DiV on Saturday, July 2, 2016, 04:33:52 Why has he moved anyway? They've played their hand and labeled you surplus to requirements otherwise they wouldn't have accepted a bid in the first place. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: ron dodgers on Saturday, July 2, 2016, 14:32:49 blame that cock Sir William Charters Patey for no sell on
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: DiV on Saturday, July 2, 2016, 16:20:58 Is that what happened ? Of course you are right if that was the case. Some assumptions on my part...however...there was no paper talk, or declared interest in Ritchie. He isn't entering the last year of his contract and stalling over a new one or anything like that. Newcastle sold Townsend, a day later they sign a direct replacement in Ritchie. Somewhat out the blue and quickly done in comparison to most transfer deals these days. So very much assuming Newcastle put in a bid, Bournemouth accepted deeming Ritchie not needed, so he signed for Newcastle Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: tans on Saturday, July 2, 2016, 16:41:33 They turned down a joint bid from West Ham for him and Callum Wilson a couple of weeks back
Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: Reg Smeeton on Saturday, July 2, 2016, 16:44:51 They turned down a joint bid from West Ham for him and Callum Wilson a couple of weeks back 52% of the UK hadn't voted for Brexit then. Maybe the Russian sees the economy is tanking and has decided to cash in. Title: Re: Matt Ritchie - Newcastle Post by: Sippo on Saturday, July 2, 2016, 19:01:15 Was there a sell on clause for him?
