Can't think of a realistic one. I did want Michael Carrick tho🙂

As a first job that would have been one that we may have been able to jib if we were in the Andrew Black era and not a total shit show. One of those outside chances that come off sometimes.

Under this and the last two owners, total pie in the sky.

Has any manager we have all wanted in the last few years actually turned out to be any good
I am not sure if any manager the fans wanted has even turned out to good elsewhere when appointed either.

Several wanted the Cowleys and they have ended up at Colchester, they would never be on my wanted list having watched how they set teams up previously TBH.

I wanted the ex Crewe manager David Artell who has ended up at Grimsby and so far has only won 2 games in his first 9 in charge.

I did hear Gareth Ainsworth is linked to us, good track record but not a passing style manager he prefers the longer game, loved by Wycombe fans and by QPR fans despite being in charge of a team with just 5 wins from his 28 games, fans saying he was let down by the woner (sound familiar?). His MO is often to sign older players which wouldnt fit into our ethos.

Probably well out of our price range anyway I would imagine and could very well still attract offers from much bigger clubs than us.

I think the results and how we play in the next 5 or 6 games will decide if Gunning will be given the job full time or that we will look to appoint AN Other before this season comes to a climax.

There is something slimey and greasey looking about Ainsworth that just makes me want to puke so- that would be a no from me.

I am not a fan of how he looks either and not a fan of his style of kick it long and press the opposition defence, which QPR fans hated too, but he had a few good seasons at Wycombe previously on a very low budget.

I think hes well off our radar anyway TBH.

I never even realised he was their manager, one of the most over rated jobbing managers in history, similar to Karl Robinson.

He’ll keep them up. They’ve a squad far beyond their league position and I expect he’ll add 2/3 of his own before the deadline.
