Oh well, at least we made a game of it in the end - which didn't look likely after the first 40 minutes
Agreed. Why oh why oh why oh why do players not take a run up when taking pens. I wasn't too happy when Collins took his but at least it went in. You could just tell Storey was going to miss.

Over the two legs we were the better side in my opinion (and i'm usually critical of Swindon). I think we desperately missed a Ritchie type player who could run at their players as Roberts doesnt have the legs to do this.
Think we will be lucky to get anywhere near the playoffs next season unless their is a revamp of the team. Will be interesting to see who comes and who goes.

I'm afraid the closeness of the score cannot hide the utter ineptitude of the majority of that performance
40 minutes out of a total of 210 minutes does not equal a majority. Or even 40 minutes out of 120.

Gutted- accepted defeat at 3.1 and to fight back the way they did was a heartbreaking end. Season over then Revolving door of players out in the summer to look forward to I guess Jury is still out on MacDonald for me Will see how he gets on with his own team and preseason

We were actually quite good in the 2nd half. I'm angry at the abysmal effort in the 1st half though. If it wasn't for that pathetic showing we would not have won that. *But we were utterly pathetic in the 1st half. Atrocious.

If you points scored that like a Boxing match we'd have won.
Apart from the first 50 minutes of the second half we were the better team and we weren't even close to our free flowing best.
I do worry what happens next...

We had the same thing happen to us 2 years. Howe left us in January and just about scraped the playoffs. Played Huddersfield. 1-1 at ours, 3-3 at theirs, then beaten on pens. Also had a player sent-off during extra time. Good luck next season, I think its going to be a tougher league
