James McEveley? He can play left back or central defence. Missed the last couple of games for Barnsley after they signed Collins from Port Vale. Not sure he qualifies as 'exciting' mind...

"I've got a huge Scottish family so I would have loved to get the blue shirt on and played in front of the Scots. I still get goose pimples when I hear 'Flower of Scotland' so that would have been lovely but at the moment it doesn't look like it's going to happen."
Brian Howard 12/12/08.......Exciting?

"In 2 September 2009 Howard signed for Reading on a three-year contract" Deal expires in the summer. Howard looks the best shout so far. Would be a bit of a coup for our level but not especially exciting.

Yep Howard fits the bill. He got called up by Scotland a few years back but Fifa said he wasnt eligible to play for them.

See he made his debut for us in that baking hot 2-3 game vs Sheffield Wednesday. Doesn't seem so long ago ...
Didn't we release him? Remember King being unsure about keeping him as he was crap second season.

James McEveley according to the Adver.
He was in X-Men, so I guess that's the exciting part.

Seemingly yes. His wiki page is pretty much a list of injuries, both suffered by him and caused by him. I do remember him being touted as a very good prospect whilst at Blackburn so he should have some quality.
