Whether his roles/films were good or not, he made people feel happy when they saw him. To me at least, that is the greatest legacy any man could leave.

I didn't like One Hour Photo, hence why I would argue because there will be people who liked later efforts.
Williams did plenty of serious roles but it was his choice of comedic rfilms which were a greater shame in his later years.
I feel the same, except for the remake of Insomnia which is a great film.

Fucking loved Robin Williams, especially as Mrs Doubtfire and Aladdin came out when I was a kid, and I genuinely feel a bit sad about this. He hadn't been in anything decent for years, but I watch some of his old standups on you tube a fair bit. Hilarious bloke! RIP

I didn't find him funny in the slightest. Still sad to hear the news though.

He was amusing at times, but too OTT for me. His best acting performances were when he played someone who was either very pained or very sad. Sounds as if not much acting was required.

Mork and mindy was the first thing I remember him in.
Sad news.
I remember his appearance in a dream type sequence episode of "Happy Days" that was so good that he was given the Mork and Mindy series that made his name to a far wider audience. As said elsewhere on here, his stand-up routines were well worth watching and as far as films went imho "Good Morning Vietnam" was him at his best. Another comedian that had two sides to his personality - very sad getting to that state.

The sensationalist headlines on the tabloid front pages have really pissed me off this morning. Ok, the man was troubled, but it's just saddening that this is what "journalism" has turned into.

See Lauren Bacall has passed away as well. Probably the definition of sultry.

I actually thought she'd died years ago....I suppose it was being wed and working with Bogart, who did die years ago. She must have been young and him much older I suppose.
