Surely it's not about the performance or even the results at this satge of pre season, it's solely about getting your match fitness up to an acceptable level.

I think Rodrigo looked promising and Curtis Weston was good in the centre of midfield. I thought the black bloke at number 4 in the first half was gash, he passed to FGR half the time.

Whalley's a bit injured I believe but not that bad. Don't know about t'other two.
So this black number 4. Was he good or was he gash? He can't be both during one 45 minute spell surely?
Or can he?
