Some really unpleasant things have been posted on here and Thisis about Aljofree. I don't think I'd be exacgtly running across to embrace our fans if I was hi either.

He did have a good game today. Still not really a leader though.

i dont blame him for not clapping either.he got stick from some twats in the arkells,and i heard him booed early on in the game by some at the top corner of the don rogers.

i don't blame him for having a pop back at the fans either and it's more than likely the same fans who are still giving him shit, regardless of whether he's having a good game or not.

Aljofree is like Gurney...he gets fans divided,like Gurney sometimes he looks quality,and like Gurney again at other times very ordinary.....IMO!

Aljfofree had a good game today and had a good one on Tuesday. Other than that he has been a complete cunt this season and I would have gladly seen him out the door. What he has shown in the last 2 games is what we got last season - not brilliant but good enough for this division and STFC.
I will support him when he's not being a sulky, lazy twat who couldn't care less abuot the club I love. He's deserved support the last 2 games as he's given 100% but got what he deserved previously.
Ditto JPM who was also a lazy, sulky twat who couldn't give a fuck. I clapped him off the pitch today as he put a good shift in again.

I'm more of a head in the hands kind of guy during the game rather than shouting or slagging off players. At the end of games i generally skulk off. I'm more of a keyboard warrior when it comes to opinions. Others, however, express themselves differently. I guess its a personal decision. If you play like a complete cunt then you set yourself up. How come Jack Smith ( who is a much worse defender ) does not get any stick? Were the fans picking on Aljofree for nothing? Were they right to express themselves as they did? Were his responses appropriate? Each person will make their own opinion. But certain players neeed to look at themselves and ask why fans get at them and not others.  

The whole team, not long ago, were playing like complete cunts (With a couple of exceptions) but the mindless minority chose Aljorfree as the whipping boy. I don't condone his reactions, but I understand them. If he now chooses not to applaud I really don't care. As long as he performs he's fine by me....................

He wasn't chosen as a whipping boy he completely abdicated his responsibility not only as a captain but as a player as well. When things go wrong you look to the captain who in this case was hiding. When you needed a strong captain we found we had a complete cock. When the going got tough instead of digging in, he got pissy. He chose himslef as a whipping boy purely thruogh his own actions or more accurately his inacrtions.
In the last 2 games he's improved enormously. The defence is still a bloody shamlbes but at least he's given 100%. I couldn't give a fuck if he claps the fans - I do giv e a fuck if he gives 100%. now he is, previuosly he wasn't.
I would still take the captaincy from him and give ti to Peacock who really has proved me very wrong.

He shirked his responsibility a number of times while playing alongside Ifil, when he was in a position to play a pas out of defence himself but instead played a short sideways pass to Jerel, even though he knew Jerel's confidence was shot and he can't pass that well at the best of times.

Totally disagree. When you are captain and you're not even organising your back 4 or even talking to the other players, then you're fucking hiding. When you've got a 18 year old next to you and you don't even encourage him then you're fucking hiding. When you see players going goalside of you and there are other Town players near you doing nothing and you don't tell them to mark then you're fucking hiding. if you make a complete fuck up and blame Ifill then you're fucking hiding.
Against Northmaton and today, he wasn't hiding but if I was in World War II and going out of the trenches I wouldn't want him along side me, I'd rather have Peacock , Cox, Paynter or just about any other player.
If we get out of this then Aljofree and JPM can count themselves fucking lucky.

I can't believe people are still writing the same old stuff about Aljofree when he's had two decent games in a row and the team has won two games in a row. Yeah, we know he's not a leader - didn't do us any harm though.

As long as we win I couldn't give a shit who our captain was. Also, Peacock and Timlin seem to be quite vocal on the pitch, but we don't know what Hasney does off it. A captain is just as much about of the field as it is on it.

There's two aspects to this, isn't there, there's Aljofree the player and Aljofree the captain. As a player, as others have said, I only care if he puts in a shift and plays well, which he palpably has done the past three games. My ego's not so fragile that I need the boost of having each individual player applauding my shouting abuse at opposition players, ill-founded criticism of match officials etc. However, as a captain there is an expectation that he should lead by example. And it's in this regard that you don't expect the captain to be getting involved in slanging matches with fans - he should be the one stopping other players doing it. And likewise when it comes to clapping the fans, like I say personally I don't give a monkeys if the players clap us or not, I get my jollies from them playing well, but if they are going to do it, it looks like a sulk when one player doesn't join in. When it's the captain, that "leading by example" thing comes in.

But it's a minor point imo - if Aljofree continues to play well for the rest of the season, he can moon the entire DRS as he leaves the pitch as far as I'm concerned. Erm, although I hope he doesn't

I have no problem with Has, if people single him out for abuse and he reacts, great shows he gives a shit.  For what its worth some of our fans have been out of order this season, if a player now decides he's not that keen on some sections of our support, fine, as long as he puts in a display like yesterday.

To be honest, you are not helping them out here. It would be nice to avoid whats happening in the top flight where most fans think the players are scum as people.

Someone was bemoaning how we never sing songs about individual players at the moment (janaage was it?). Certain players are unpopular for a reason and the reason is a lot of the fans dont like them. Its up to them to help themselves become more popular, and that will help the club as well.

To be honest Ive got better things to do with time and money than cheer on a bunch of knobs. However much you say Has is a nice guy etc, its his public persona that matters, and to be honest he is at rock bottom. Its a brave defense from some hardcore posters on here, but I dont think he should behave as he has been. So many things not right at the moment.
