Did anyone watch the Jimmy McGovern film 'Reg' last night on BBC? It was a true story based not about our Reg on here, but Reg Keys who ran against Tony Blair in Sedgefield after he lost his son in Iraq.
I had no idea that had actually happened, was it reported much on the news at the time?

We watched the first 3 episodes on the Iplayer (bizarrely you can watch it there before its on the TV) and it was good, although the third episode was spoiled a bit (I won't say why). Decent cast and writer though. Some of it was filmed directly outside my (old) office in Canary Wharf.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? Crap!

We actually watched all three last night, I think there re going to be 7 in total so not sure when the others are on? It was Ok, a clever premise but the writer just seemed to lose interest towards the end (not sure if that is why you thought it was spoiled a bit - PM me!), the writer writes mainly teenage fiction which did reflect a little in the dialogue (the 'banter' was a bit grating at times but I am 40 and I suspect not the target demographic), an interesting change of direction for crime drama and one I suspect trying to engage a younger audience by being less formulaic than most. We will definitely watch the rest assuming we remember its on in a three weeks time!

I was looking forward to it, but it's not been great. They screwed up with casting I think.
