Yes on their forum they seem a bit bemused that they have let him go only months after signing a new 2 year contract with them.
Some stating that he probably figured out he wasn't anywhere near their first team, well TBH not sure he will be that close to ours this season either but he may get some outings on the bench so thats a step up from U23 footy.
I don't think we make this signing for him not to be involved fairly swiftly....

You really think so? I am not convinced as we have Broadbent, Woolf, Conroy and still Lancashire and Romanski under contract(or loan) as CB's unless one or more of those is off soon.

I was thinking the same, Nelson could return in the summer but until then I can't see us trying to revive the deal.

The deal reminds me a bit of the Jess Strakey deal, sometimes they work sometimes they don't.
I doubt we paid much if anything for him up front with most of the deal being made up in appearances, promotion bonusses and sell on clauses etc.

Yes. Ellis got some first team action in Sept, having signed in August, in the Boycott, got his first league run out a month later. I'd imagine if Woolf gets recalled then the lad will get some game time. Seeing as we have no reserve football, playing some first team football is the only way to develop. Assuming at some point towards the season we're still out of the PO mix that might be another opportunity.

Jeez a quote from the FB page.. Buy directly a ticket to The non-league with that kind of lad
Never heard of him
The first team needs signings! Not more children
So signing players for the future is frowned upon, right, good one. Next they will be saying we only buy old players and don't think of the future etc etc.

From Wellens conference today... On Sid Nelson:
"If I can do Sid on a permanent I will, but it's not looking likely at the moment.
"We've got Lancashire, Conroy, Woolfenden - I don't want to use my last loan on a centre back."
In terms of ins, the club is pretty much done other than the wildcard.

No wonder we spent so much time in the conference.
