Tory politicians like to talk about doing things 'at pace'.  They're all at it.  Hancock today.  What he means is 'quickly'.

No, what he means is "precipitately" / "desperately" / "without due consideration for consequences or due process".

We have all seen how "quick government" plays out, in place of the sound, steady, solid, stolid model of government which earnt Britain a great deal of international respect for centuries.

It gets harder and harder selling this cultural laughing stock to the world.

For a very brief moment RF, I thought you were going to wander into the classic soundbitism of "strong and stable". I didn't think that phrase could get worse, until I heard "oven ready" from our supposedly learned friend - Mr. Sockpuppet.

Just purchased a new windows 10 PC and whenever I’m connected to my WiFi, give it 10 minutes and there’s “no internet access”. Turn the wifi off and on and it sorts it’s shit out and until it does it again.

And I’m not looking for a solution, thanks. It’ll be connecting via Ethernet only before too long so no shits will then be given.

You have no idea the dilemma I faced in thinking how that sound would translate as a written word, that was not only convincing but also concerning. Could find no examples so made the whicker up (no not Alan)  Smiley

People with (mostly) diesel cars who leave their engine running whilst waiting - not a short wait at traffic lights etc but the kind of place you may be waiting for 20 minutes.

Bastard sticky labels. Do they use a substance akin to super glue these days? Takes ages to peel them off your purchases.  Bad Mood

Over the past 9 months due to personal issues, my caffeine intake has rocketed. Coffee and Energy drinks. I haven't had any adverse affects but i know what it can do to the body so thought i'd try and slow it down before its too late.
Fuck me, I've felt like absolute shit for the last 3 days. Just had a small coffee and almost instantly feel better.

Probably be better off getting hooked on crack of something.

I used to drink 10+ cups of tea and the odd coffee in a day which gave me palpitations so now I'm only down to around 4 cups and it's fine
