Won't need to get to South Bermondsey. Just Swindon to Paddington and then a day pass for the tube. With a 16-25 railcard thats £11.90 (not including the tube). Bargain.

You planning on getting a taxi from Tower Bridge again? Was a good laugh trying that last time! I guess the other option is to walk to London Bridge tube

Title: Re: Millwall.
Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, December 29, 2008, 15:57:26
Looking like the best option is 10:59 from Swindon and then 22:45 return from Paddington.

If you get a ticket for Swindon > London Bridge that will include tube travel and works out at £15 with a 16-25 Railcard so about £20 without.

I can't remember how we got back to Paddington last time, did we walk for miles to the tube station?

That way it's train to Paddington, tube to London or Tower Bridge then train to South Bermondsey. Saves trying to hail a cab in the middle of the road like last time :D

I could be missing something here, but don't really understand why you would want to go via Tower Bridge.  If you're coming through Paddington, the obvious route would be Bakerloo line to Baker Street, Jubilee line to London Bridge and then overground to South Bermondsey.  It sounds convoluted, but is actually rather quick (depending on how many beers you drink en route).

You may well be right, but last year south bermondsey was shut so ended up cabbing it, other times i've walked from new cross gate.
