Good to hear that sung today. One of the songs that seems to have been sung less and less since the Fast Clapping People's Front took over. Very apt too.

Fantastic in the away end today.

Danny Wilson got a bit of stick up in the commentary box as well, especially at the end - could that be heard on tv?

Just got home. Rooney deserves a shout as thought he played well.

Head hurts.  :pint:

No, but " fuck off to the football league" could

I can't understand the animosity towards Wilson.
He built a good team that got us within touching distance of the championship; arguably our best season in the last 15 years.
He always seemed honest and straightforward and appeared to work hard for the club.
I'm sure he would admit himself that he allowed things to fall apart the following season, though this wasn't helped by sales of key players without the funding to bring in replacements.

Nope could hear nothing at all, but the Town fans were way way louder than the prawn sandwich eating Creepy fans all game and the football league would have been left in no doubt who the fans blame.

A cracking vocal support for almost 90 minutes without a peep from the Creepy fans who made no noise even when they scored from the dubious penalty.

totally agree chelt, no disrepect to PDC but wilson had no where near the amount of funds he has had, and IMO league one was far stronger than it is now, as chelt said it did fall appart the following season but i cant bring myself to dislike him, there is a long list of failures before him to hate

I understand that our wage bill was higher under Wilson and that Wilson actually paid more out in transfer fees than Paolo so your argument does not stand up.

Never let facts get in the way of a good argument.

No I agree (more or less). Wasn't endorsing it, just wondering whether it could be heard. Might have been quite embarrassing if he was doing the post match analysis with "Wilson, you're a cunt" being heard in the background!

He then went and built a shit team that got us relegated to League Two; easily our worst season in the last I dunno 25 years?

Wilson didn't have anywhere near the freedom Di canio has had. He had a wannabe director of football who was clueless interfering constantly.

Wilson was a wanker without a heart...talking of Hart he was another loser as was Malpas

I guess the flip side of that is that Wilson took the shit, Di Canio doesn't and won't.

I have absolutely no idea how much meddling Fitton did but if it was as bad as all that i would have thought Wilson would have just walked.

See Wilson is working his 2nd season magic at Bramall Lane - dropping like a concrete turd

I quite liked Wilson, no idea how he handled the players, or whether he was party to all transfers, but he put together a squad that so nearly got promoted to the Championship.

People do seen to have selective memory with regard to him.

Ignoring the 1st season he saved us from relegation, ignoring the 2nd season we were a game from the Championship. Only remember the car crash 3rd season.

People remember that for whatever reason he allowed the dressing room to split into factions and wouldn't or couldn't get them to give a shit.

The total lack of effort and pride is shown up after performances like last night.

PDC would not stand for it and neither should he have!

I try to remember the good times under Wilson. As shit as it was under him starting from the kick off of the game at Wembley, there were some good times before that which you can't simply forget.

I've got no problem with Wilson and won't ever forget the PO season and that brilliant night at Charlton. I guess his rather wooden personality counts against him, plus I don't ever remember him praising the fans or 'giving us a wave' that often. What a cunt  :D

Ignoring the first two seasons, Wilson lead us through one of the worst seasons in our 125+ year history. It takes something pretty special to be that shit.

Title: Re: we'll never die........

He ran his course here for sure, but think it may have been better had others not have meddled. We had more than enough to stay up but lost some key players too. Add the dressing room division and that was a disaster.

the season was a disaster before the kick-off at Wembley.

I've seen 50+ of those, and just when you think you've seen it all, along comes something like that. Still more a feeling of sorrow though, as Wilson did seem like a decent bloke, who for whatever reason couldn't turn events around.

once that decision was made there was no point in even turning up at Wembley.

To have the squad and budget that we had and then finish a place lower than a team that has been deducted 10 points is almost incredible.

There were too many cliques while Wilson was in charge and the dressing room was devided. Paolo wants team unity or you can fuck off !

I promise I'm not questioning the accuracy of this comment, but where/when was all this revealed?  I.e. who blew the whistle on these cliques?
