Payne:
- Massive win today and 3 points
- Need to use that to pick up momentum
- Worked well. Good shape. Good comms
- Had to do extra shift defending
- January is an up and down time with transfers.
- We've now got what we've got.
- Want to play every game
- Pitman scored and was a physical presence.
- We have not been good enough in all of the areas
- Perfect thing was having the game tonight rather than dwelling on departures
- Excited rather than nervous before the game
- It wasnt the prettiest of performances, but we did what we needed to do to get the points
- Clean sheet, shape and talking was the best thing tonight

Wigan made us look like odd on favourites to be Champions... Next season in League Two. Just gutted I didn’t cash out my bet after 3 points instead of hastily cashing out last night. What a muppet!

Because I watched the whole game. In the context of the division we're in. With the options we've got and the style we play. And I concluded we shaded a terrible game against a hopeless team. Then I saw the evidence that our players don't have a shred of respect for their manager, and vice versa.

Sorry if I burst your bubble, but that's where we are. Don't be deceived.
As a fan, I don't go for being the cleverer critic.

Confidence is also undoubtedly a factor in how a team performs.

Love your posts but tonight I'm giving every credit to those who contributed to the 3 points.

And tonight, I'm not afraid of being proved wrong in saying STFC can still do it.  Great effort!

On a side note, if there is any crap weather before Saturday I can't see the Shrews game being on and if it is it will be a bit of a farce. Pitch looked at its absolute limit tonight, can't remember it in this state since the Nile Ranger season, not surprising given the circumstances though.

If it is on, that may help us.  I'm way out of date.  Is Marcus Cassidy still with us?

It was terrible wasn’t it.
Mind you I know they have cut the budget on the pitch but that was almost going back to late 70’s minus the sand.
Or are they training on it more often. May be saving money hiring training facilities at Calne or Wootton Bassett?

Yep
Thanks.  He must be disappointed but good to know he's still on the team.

Cobblers and Shrewsbury also lost tonight. Good evening all round for once.

I saw somewhere that there was a blocked drain under the pitch for a while that’s caused it to deteriorate more than normal.

The bet you put £12 on for a payout of £20, I can see why you are frustrated

Yes. Loads of work to be done but hopefully will do the boys a world of good seeing us out of the bottom 4 for the next few days at least.

Is the Conroy red worth an appeal?
Not seen it back again, but looked as if the linesman gave the foul and not the ref who may have been a lot closer.

Probably not worth it. It was a foul, and he was the last man, even if the whole thing was slow-motion powder-puff. Hodgetts and Hawes seemed to think he'd only get a one-game ban due to lack of malice, even though it was a straight red.
