Aye, i looked at hotbox. But they want a £200-odd pound deposit and, refundable or not, i just can't afford it that was what held me back too - £200 seemed a lot. i pondered for a couple of weeks then paid it, deciding that it would actually help my cash flow in the long term - take a hit now and it gives me the feeling i'm poorer, which leads to less frivilous spending, and a nice £200 back in October. I just hope I can make £800 last until then. May have to get a summer job.

Been offered a ticket for Reading this year. Weezer and Modest Mouse were enough to swing me, but add in Libertines, Biffy, QOTSA, We Are Scientists (and the freaking Arcade Fire...I continue to underrate them, despite theirs being one of the best live performances I've ever witnessed). Its a lot of money but I may have to go...!

I'd like to second this. After seeing Neil Young there a couple of years ago it took me 2 1/2 hours to get out of the car park after all the stewards fucked off after the gig ended. Either that or they were in hiding because they were nowhere to be seen. Great concert and not a bad venue and getting in was pretty east. But afterwards - bad news.

cheers for the warning.
its only one whole day of music this year (saturday), with the option of camping, which i think may be a different arrangement from other years? and perhaps might help to ease the congestion
however bad it is i don't think it'll top trying to get out of glastonbury. forgot where i'd parked my car, so an attempted early exit at 1am turned into a 6 hour search through fields and fields full of vehicles. felt amazing when i finally found it, though i had by then lost my friend so had to drive around looking for her.

This weekend Im working an acoustic Bowling for Soup show at Islington academy and on Sunday I return to pox for a Lou Reed show. Unfortunately its Lou Reeds Metal Machine Music trio. The ads for which make it sound like 90 minutes of feedback and proudly proclaims 'NO SONGS'! Its going to be horrible avant garde bollocks. And its in poxford.

Yes. Pretentious shite. I have a guitar and some pedals, but no-one is going to pay £25 to hear feedback for 90 minutes.
I may stand at the front of the stage shouting for walk on the wild side and see how long it is before he walks off. It'll get me out of here quicker!
