Not going. Bugger the Football League.

This game will doubtless cost the club money.....hopefully any extra made from the Rovers fans wil cover it.

Not going. As PaulD said you either boycott the whole thing or don't boycott at all. Not much of a protest at the overall format if you choose to attend the games not involving the 'B' teams.

I was going but I'm going along with the boycott now.

Everything about the competition is rubbish but it's a senior professional fixture therefore it counts towards their run/our ending of their run. Regardless of personal opinion.

We're going to be bored for years by arguments over whether or not it counts toward 'the run', aren't we?

Oh, fucking, joy. Another reason to hate this abomination of a competition.

Nothing new....this Anglo Italian Cup game was similar. We even rested 6 players to bring in kids....

Of course it will, unless we win in the league, obv.

If our 1992 3-1 win over them at the Manor Ground in the Anglo-Italian Cup counted then this shit-tip of a trophy does too.

Austin Berkley's one and goal Town goal was not in vain, damn it.

I'm a shit fan with no morals and I believe that Sky invented football in '92.

Did genuinely see a 15/16 year old kid on twitter tag Against Modern Football. Much better in your day eh kid.

Why wouldn't it count?  They are already counting two JPT games in their "six in a row".

That was a pretty shit first team line up that day (in comparison to our normal line up) but up against virtually the Pox's first team we did thrash them and it could have been a few more on the day too IIRC.

2 very poor players in Close and Berkeley played and I think it was Wayne O'Sullivans debut that night too, he was an under rated player, did a lot of running.

In my opinion it doesn't count because of the boycott. Tbf to a lot of Oxford fans, they do sort of get it.

Must be harder for them as these games are their be all and end all, and seeing a pretty much guaranteed third ever win at the CG in 137 years, must be difficult to avoid. I don't suppose in that time STFC have gone into this fixture in such disarray.

And here we go...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37544161

Shaun Harvey: "It is the misconception this competition was being utilised to bring B teams into the Football League. There are more games, but more than 42,000 attended the opening games compared to 29,000 last year."

Why use this statistic and not give the context, ie 32 matches compared to 16, 1,434 ave attendance compared to 1,871?

392 at Fleetwood v Blackburn was good going by the fans for what is a game between two clubs local to each other.
