Not me. As usual, I'm glad it is a home game Saturday. I'd love it if the team could replicate the effort of Tuesday, if only to show the home fans that a near full-strength side can be pretty effective in this division. I'll agree with the 1-1 draw.

We were very impressive on Tuesday night. Following that, I'm going for a 2-0 win, goals from Ajose and Kasim

I'd rather we avoid the unwanted records that are hanging like a Sword of Damocles, over this bunch of players and the coach.

A first ever league defeat at Spotland wouldn't look too good either.

As for today, match Blackpool's result and we're safe....that's all that matters.

Damn right. I know of at least 20 ST holders who are waiting to see if we can maintain our unbeaten league run at Spotland before renewing...

Williams has got to win a game sometime. So why not today. Inevitably we will concede first but come back to win 3 2 Ajose, Doughty and Obika in front of 6823. Result will prove to be irrelevant as Fleetwood will beat Blackpool anyway

Well indeed. In fairness, I suppose anyone who had predicted in October that the team would effectively be down with the Christmas decorations is likely to be desperately looking for ways to suggest that our lower mid-table position is some kind of freakish fluke.

We never start at 3.00 for some reason. Add on a couple of minutes extra to the first half. Come out late for the 2nd  half and it's 5.00 before we finish.

Seriously we dominated that game from the first whistle, Branco missed a sitter in the first minute and that started things off, 20 shots on goal but only 1 counted!!!  Exquisite goal from Kasim after a clever pass from Barry, how Obika managed to shoot over the bar from two yards only he will know but he worked hard all game.

Yes of course - quite so. I suppose what I'm thinking in my little dream world is that if, somehow, we could make some sort of deal with Yaser to stay, it would mean he would be staying on his own terms and therefore be happy to do so. In that fantastically unlikely scenario, we would be getting 'Good Yaser'.

I know, I know. It's not going to happen.

Thank f*** for that. Doughty my motm very unlucky not to score. Obika obviously should have too. Few lucky breaks today but really we should have won a lot more comfortably than we ended up doing. Kasim very good finish for goal and was generally pretty much in control of things. Not sure Ajose touched the ball more than about a dozen times in the first half. Kean came and flapped at a few in goal but thankfully Danny Wilson generally had Chesterfield parking the bus at the back rather than actually trying to win it - as per usual the most danger came from us needlessly taking risks and overplaying things in defence.

Just from me mate. But that's the great thing about the Interweb is it not? You can start off your own self-perpetuating rumours (remember when we were going to sign Ricky Lambert? Before he was famous obviously - I think he was at Rovers at the time? That was so going to happen but it was pure internet speculation - nothing else). Come on, work with me on this. We can make it happen... ;)

Chesterfield take this season's worst team I've seen this season award (apart from us).

Danny Wilson got his tactics very wrong today and we didn't have to do very much to take the points. We came out of the blocks quickly today and Branco was unlucky not to score with our first attack. After that we had a lot of possession but didn't do very much.

Second half was more of the same but we looked more dangerous. Doughty hit the post, Obika missed a sitter and it looked like a goalless draw until a well worked goal ended with Kasim shooting home.

My MOM was Turnbull but as a team we looked crisper today and we actually utilised throw in opportunities by throwing the ball swiftly to a man in a red shirt which was pleasing to see. Our corners were a little better today also.

A good way to end what has been a mainly forgettable season.

there's a bandwagon?!

in all seriousness I think his quality is lacking in the final ball, and he's lightweight. but today he was always available, tried to take players on and had a decent game to boot.

Still didn't whip a cross in when beating his man....needs to work on that.

It's divvy 3 football....cross the fucker.

Job done...time to enjoy what's left of the season. Hopefully Power has learned some lessons.

This is what swinging-from-the-chandeliers celebration looks like in Reg-speak.

And he was too excited to mention the clean sheet.

...and what about the risk of losing that unbeaten league form at Spotland?

Enjoy the final two games indeed...  ::)

Didnt quite get the scoreline right in my prediction, but i did state Kasim would score (even if it wasnt a free kick)  :D

Doughty excellent and Kasim played well and generally we didnt look troubled at the back, though was that down to our good defensive play or Chesterfields lack of attacking quality, im not sure

It didnt look or sound like a crowd of just over 7,000 as appeared very quiet but at least up on the last home attendance.

Did anyone else notice something going on between Williams & Embleton with some of the crowd behind the dugout when the goal went in, what was that about?

The most important part of today was securing our league one status, it would have been a tragedy if we went down. I just hope lessons can be learnt from this season, as it hasnt been one of great joy sadly.

Was the rendition of No Surrender to the IRA for Jay O'Shea's benefit?

OK seeing as you asked, we've equalled the record for fewest home clean sheets in a season with 2 in the Prem, but still got a bit to do to equal the fewest home clean sheets in Div 3, that being 3 in 55/56.

I'd like to think that getting beat 3-1 at Spotland in the cup, might motivate the lads to put the final nail in Dale's PO hopes next week.

I did wonder. There was a rousing rendition of 10 German Bombers as well and I'm pretty sure one or two tried to get the 'Martin Aldridge' song going to boot.

Maybe it's because my excpectations are low, but I enjoyed the game today. Some of the interplay was good and if it wasn't for an ineffective display from Ajose I believe we would have won more comfortably. I like the patient build up and intricate passing; just a shame that it isn't aligned with a robust defence.

A few in the TE were celebrating St. George's Day, starting off with the national anthem and giving us their whole repertoire!

Don't know much bar wiki, but imagine you mum dying of cancer and then your dad blowing his brains out in your bedroom within 6 months of each other when you are a teenager is going to affect you somewhat?

Still, rolled back the years with some retro tunes.

They got into a bit of trouble with the flag, forced to remove it by the stewards from over an advertisement - not happy!

Clever trick to pay extra tax.

You know all ST holders are counted even if they don't attend.

Agree with this. Chesterfield were crap but so were Bury and neither as bad as Doncaster. Kasim rightly MOM but impressed by Doughty yesterday. Brophy and Barry were both good yesterday - a massive improvement on last week. There's a player in Brophy. As Hertha says if only we had a decent defence. Big up to Branco as well who pushed forward brilliantly in the second half. Can't understand this season why he gets stick but Turnbull gets praised. I'm an unashamed Branco fan whilst Turnbull has been total wank.
Also for those who give Belford stick, Kean came for three crosses and got nowhere near them leaving him in limbo. Lucky Chesterfield were shit. I don't rate Belford but I'm not sure Kean is a massive improvement.

Yes!  I got to the ground at 2-50, my usual two turnstiles in the DRS were down to just one and there was no queue at all - oh and our burger bar in the DRS was shut again!!  Power out!

Sounded much better yesterday, just shows that when we have our best 11 on the pitch were a decent side, lose 3/4 and were gash.

Turnbull has received plenty of stick this season - arguably more than Branco.

However Turnbull has demonstrated consistently in the past he can be a quality defender at this level, something Branco is not.

To be fair to the club, Jake Kean is only here because Belford is crocked. Had Belford not hid his injury, he would have been struggling with those crosses instead of Kean.

Each time there is an "injury" I do wonder if it's more a case of someone/someone's agent having upset Power. But then I also get suspicious of player sales and selection based on how much he has to personally gain from it all.... So maybe I'm not the most objective.

Wait, was that supposed to be a celebration of the vibrancy and positivity of English culture?

I'm not sure as thankfully not many joined in but from the DRS it sounded like a collection of puerile and offensive bile, Georgie would have loved it, eh.

I'm just going on the fact that he hasn't been getting in the side recently & somebody on here mentioned that he kicked a few water bottles over after he found out he wasn't going on last week against Bury!
