Title: Mirror of last season?
Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, August 9, 2005, 21:35:35
Lost our first 2 games last season, 2-1 away at Wrexham and then midweek lost 3-2 at home to Luton.

Mid table mediocrity again?

I'm not sure, I think it was 2-1, or 3-1 before we got the second against Luton.

I was pleased for Parkin as well, that may shut some of the Ipswich fans up, he'll do a good job for them.

Seemingly it was a beautiful goal as well, a curler from 18 yards. On a positive note at least Roberts and Thorpe are off the mark for the season and only a post denied us a point.

Forest got pumped in Poland tonight but I fully expect them to pump us on saturday

Fallon may be the key, his height and physical presence should hold the ball in the opposing half more and allow the midfield to get into the game.

If not I doubt if we can get anywhere just playing in 15 min bursts.

2 games 2 penalties given away too.

Mind you at least we didn't go 30 odd games before being awarded one this season.

i can't beleive our fans have been arguing these two penalties either  :?

barnsley- sean pulled the guys shirt 276 times, lucky to only get yellow
oldham- if jerel wants to jump on the poor blokes back then he's well entitled to crumple!

Difference here is that last season we knew there may be a bit of a hangover from the PO's and that we had a reasonable side ......this season I've yet to see anything other than a relegation battle.

Why did he leave it so late to bring Nicolau on?

Im not usually one for recriminations, but we were fucking dire for the first 75 minutes of that match. Why does King leave it so late?

Yes mate. I was drinking with your pals before 4. I always know that Scotty boy is about early (fuck knows how he makes a living) so I keep a look out.

Did ask after you, but had to go and meet my mates at 5. Then were you the fella in the yellow top in the County?

Real nerves last night, no one seemed very confident. Not good pre match pintage.

Shame you missed the end though. It did remind everyone why we turned up.

I havent seen Scotty for ages and his Bellys getting way too big, he's always skint but manages to go out on the ale every night, living in Old Town doesnt help him one bit.

I was in the Blue top with the collars up, next to Sharp Jnr. Im afraid i couldnt stay any longer as 75 minutes was all i could handle.

It was strange,i think king was saying to the players that they fucked up so they would have to put up with the crowd on their backs.
