Not particularly scientific, but the analysis below (with thanks to www.swindon-town-fc.co.uk) shows how the gap between ourselves and the 3rd placed team has varied since the start of the season. The hope is that the depth of our squad will be more resilient than those of our competitors during the winter months and later stages of the season. Of the teams that started brightly, (I think) only Oxford and Morecambe have started to fall away a little. Hope a few more join the list before long and allow us to close the gap. While this is really just a bit of fun - and I know you shouldn't read too much in to the table at this stage, it does pretty much confirm that we've been showing promotion form since the Shrewsbury defeat at the end of August. Our games against Southend, Crawley and Cheltenham are massive. We need to close the gap.

There is no way that they can keep up their current pace - if they did all three would break the 100 points barrier.

One of them will but the other 2 will fall away i think. I can see Southend and Cheltenham falling away and Crawley winning the league. This could however end up like L1 a few years back where there were 6 or 7 teams way ahead of the rest

If we can make sure we are in touch at Christmas, I'm sure we will have a stronger squad than most of the teams around us when suspensions and injuries start to take effect.
There are probably two or three "first" elevens that we could put out that could compete in this league whereas a lot of the clubs without the budget we have had can't have the depth of our squad.
Still got to put that into practice on the pitch though!!

000001110 This is quite remarkable.
All competitions since August: P 17 W 12 D 3 L 2. None too shabby!

We need to get Timlin away from Southend he's having a big impact for them, that may have a bearing when he leaves they may drop some points but I suspect they will be there or thereabouts come end of the season Sturrock knows what needs to be done and that is a big help

Pretty sure Nick Watkins has said he will remove either the player or the money from Southend meaning if they want him they have to buy him, or at least pay all of his wages

Indeed he did, however they also said that it's no point having a player in the squad who is a disruptive influence. Not sure whether that would apply to Timlin, but I guess that would be the risk of getting him back. Another option would be to loan him to someone else who isn't going to be a threat at the top of league 2, Plymouth maybe.

Not Plymouth, he'll do well and they will go up the league.
I want to see them get relegated
