I prefer windows media player to be honest, winamp used to be better but  they've really improved media player and it's very convenient.

Haven't had that problem but if you haven't got it already download windows media player 10, that might work. Mine's only using 5%.

I have wmp10 and have disabled visualisations. If I play things in Realplayer it only uses about 5%. I was liking wmp, but this takes the biscuit.

Ok I disabled the music manager plug in and that leaves cpu usage at 10-20%, a definite improvement

ctrl+alt+delete to bring up task manager. then look in the processes for wmplayer.exe

I think the problem is actually another plug in that i uninstalled, but it seems it didnt do it properly  :|

Fixing it now though (hopefully), otherwise i will download winamp

I prefer winamp, media player always seems too bulky. Can be a bit funny about playing some films though, if it is then Video Lan is pretty good. Uses alternative built in codecs if I remember correctly. Top little program

All the media players aren't too much different these days, all have their good and bad points. Winamp is running at 5% cpu, so fuck Micro$oft

The thing I don't like about winamp is the media library I think it'd be better if it you could maximise it take up the whole screen like media player, also prefer the way media player plays videos. I used winamp until I got windows xp then switched and only use it occasionally now.

The worst one I've tried though was itunes, couldn't stand it, didn't seem to have any good points at all, dunno what people see in mac stuff really, might be ok for designers but I don't like it at all, everythings too complicated, no right mouse button.
