Yeah, I won't take any notice of the bullies flammable. All I said was that Redknapp was the only decent choice, assuming it had to be an English manager. Dunno why it's controversial when the only other one who has had much success recently is Hodgson and he's only just joined Liverpool.

Couple of gems from the TV commentator:  "Young Boys have problems keeping clean sheets"   and  "can they keep it up, Young Boys?"

It's controversial because the bloke's under investigation for alleged financial wrongdoings, in connection with his career in football. Can you imagine the field day the Press would have with this ?

Only when he's unequivocally cleared could he be considered.

I caused a few raised eyebrows in my house, by shouting out "Come on Young Boys" at KO.

Kevin Bond is a crook as well - two peas in a pod those two
They called the fight back from Spurs 'stunning' and the 'Wonder of Berne' - FFS they were playing a poor team that have probably spent 1 tenth of the money that they have and lost. Hard 'stunning'.

I really dislike Spurs and their incredibly fickle supporters.

He's already in a high profile football job, so I doubt it would make much difference. There were lots of rumours he would be sacked by Spurs and it turned out to be complete nonsense and it hasn't affected his job at all, so there's no reason why it should affect whether he should get the England job. I think it's highly likely he will be cleared of any wrongdoing anyway but unless anything is proven he should be considered innocent.

He is currently the bookies favourite anyway, so most don't consider this a big issue. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/england-specials/next-permanent-manager

The blaming of the pitch has started already in the news... looked fine to me.
