American actors on TV mistreating English. For example "What do you got?" is heard frequently.
On a similar theme there seems to be a plethora of TV shows around at the moment with English people playing Americans (With bad accents) and vice versa, its not as if there is a shortage of actors so why do they seem to consistently cast like this?

A good example of this was the recent film Doolittle, where Robert Downey Jnr an American plays a Welshman, yet a Welshman Michael Sheen plays an American!

Maybe they were better suited for the characters they were asked to portray. Don't really see the issue, they're actors, it's what they do.

It gets right on my boobs! On a similar vein, Stephan Graham is a fantastic actor but his welsh accent in 'White House Farm' was a thing of sheer horror!!

If they can do the accent, and many just can't!

Fair enough, for every Idris Elba in The Wire, there's a Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. But I don't see the problem in principle with an American playing a Welshman or vice versa.

They are actors indeed, but it was noticable by both of them having poor accents that they were portraying.

No I fully appreciate that they are actors and paid for these roles but to RDJ's Welsh accent kept turning into Pakistani and Sheens was as bad a New York accent as Van Dykes cockney it does make you question their appearances, I loves Downeys Englsh accent in Sherlock Holmes but Welsh is way beyond him.

Graham's problem is he's just so scouse. Hard to mask that surely.

Was going to say similar. Having a strong accent has it's pitfalls. If they'd just cast him as a scouse copper/detective (I assume that's his role), or even said he was from Rhyl. We wouldn't be making too much fuss. He's a great actor though. I put him in the David Morrissey mould of English talent. So much of it comes out of the North West too.
