I did mean after this season had been decided. I think we have no choice now but to stick with Sheridactyl.
I can't see why you would even contemplate it as he's clearly not a reliable employee. He preaches about loyalty whilst he's off speaking to another club, he criticises the likes of Woolery for showing a lack of ambition for dropping a division and then does exactly the same. It's almost as if he's bi-polar!

"Employment philanderer" is probably the term you're looking for

So, if you’re Clem/whoever and have just taken control of the club and want to make a statement of intent and maybe get some brownie points with fans, would you try for Wellens?
That would be the worst reason possible for trying for him, it should be for footballing reasons only if said owner believed he was best option

Dont think we'll see Clem in charge, particularly not any time soon. Same with Wellens, seems made for him to go to Donny.

Wouldn't kick off if it happened but wouldn't score 'brownie points'
Relegation or not, we're going to have a problem building a new team without a manager over the summer. Current state of the club and Power's disinterest I can't really see a progressive future thinking appointment.
Suppose it depends on how long the ownership stuff drags on for.

I would have Wellens back in a heartbeat. Last season, we played some of the best football I have seen at the CG. He engaged with us fans, created a buzz about the place and got us believing again.
Yes, the summer recruitment was poor and he jumped because he saw the opportunity at Salford. But I suspect there was/is a lot going on behind the scenes here that prompted that.
This.

I don't hold any grudges when it comes to Wellens but I am not a fan 'going back to an ex', so to speak.

wouldnt be able to trust him again. he burnt those bridges with his leaving interviews-I was more pissed off about what he said then him leaving.
he didnt want a relegation on his CV, have sacking on it instead.

Without looking back, I think it was suggested earlier that the owners know best and that we should not offer any further comment on this forum.

Can't help but have a wry smile at him losing his job before we get relegated. The Carragher/Neville spat is mildly amusing too.
As for Wellens coming back to Town - Its not an odd thought to have, as he did do some good things here. However, I think its best to look at it as being nice while it lasted. Life is about moving forwards and not going back.

The question is if Salford wanted Sheriden would the majority want Wellens back or let Power choose a new manager again!

Wouldn't want him back again. Last season was brilliant and im happy to leave it there.
I always felt like he'd be back off up north given the chance and so it played out.
Wish him no harm or misfortune just don't think he'd ever properly settle here and we'd be constantly waiting for him to go elsewhere every time a job north of Birmingham becomes available.
