The brilliance of McNamee is that there is an end product to his tricks. Plenty of players have got so far on pace and trickery alone, but few can whip in a cross like Little Ant. It's no wonder there is a sense of anticipation when he gets the ball, and even more so when he works his way into a crossing position. I meant that both try tricks, don't defend and crossing seems to be hit and miss.

But we do need another left winger so I'm all for the extra body if they can find a bit of form. Will be better than Aaron Brown anyway.

Apparently he suffers with Asthma and it was a concern at previous clubs of him not being able to play 90 mins.  (I stole that from somewhere on a search engine)

Apparently JPM can cross a ball.

I've seen him do it 3 times in his whole town career.

Good player. Very pacey and was a regular at Watford a couple of years ago. Should be interesting if he signs. But I do think we are quite well stocked with wide players Roberts Zaboub McGovern and Mohammed.

Spoke to at Watford fan at work who informs me that both are utter tripe. Crewe fan said the same about McNamee.

I'll give them a chance though.

We lack a bit of pace in the midfield department so I'm hopeful he'll offer something different.

I still think he'll be hit and miss, but then a lot of our players are like that.

A bit of competition I suppose, seeing as both our wingers (Sofi and JPM) are dross.

Go for Roberts and McNamee and see what happens I guess.

Although to be fair he's probably judging them at Prem/top-end Championship standards. Just because they're not good enough for that level, doesn't mean they can't do a job at this level.

plus the fact they may be stale where they are as Watford have been top end Championship lower end Premiership for a while now and Boothroyd tended to not change his team massively ...so chances were few and far between for them both

I think McGovern has improved in recent weeks as well.

Solid player at least. His workrate is also a lot better than he gets credit for.

Not to mention the fact that our most dangerous area when we attack is the right hand side, with him and Comminges..

What i like about this signing is the fact we (hopefully) won't be seeing much of Zaaboub anymore  :D

That Juninho (Sp) Brazillan chappie who played for Middlesborough was rather small himself, yet he did alright.

sofi had an excellent workrate, but never looked like carving out the opportunities like jp did time and time again. will be interesting to see what mcnamee offers in comparison but certainly looks like two quality left wingers in the squad
