They tweeted about one being out this Sunday (I think).

No idea what Flash is on about, but suspect it's more to do with fact Ron who runs Washbag also has a website to run, does the membership for the trust, has young kids and a full time job on his hands...

One of the people that runs the Washbag got upset about posting a link with content to one of their web pages on here a couple of weeks ago.

Town fans are spoilt, we have swindon-town-fc.co.uk, The Washbag (with a well produced Town specific Podcast) and multiple media sources.

Just a shame there's not much room for a printed fanzine anymore.

As an ex fanzine bod I can honestly say it wouldn't work now. People are just used to not paying for things, and printing costs cash.

Plus with smartphones does anyone need to buy a fanzine? I don't know how well the official matchday mag still sells but I'd say with that and the multiple online sources we've got, the market is well any truly covered

As you say we are spoilt, thewashbag* and Swindon-town-fc are both, in their unique own ways, excellent resources, I wonder how many other clubs at our level are so well served

*Full disclosure: I very occasionally write for TheWashbag, but was a long time fan before I did.

I think he got upset by someone posting the content rather than a link to it on the washbag site. Which I can sort of understand I suppose.

I was at Turf Moor a few weeks back and noticed a Fanzine seller.  Tis a bit backwards in that part of the world mind.

Yes, he delivers excellent content for free on his site, so it's not unreasonable to want hits in exchange.

On part of the train journey back from Sheffield last week, there was a Stoke fan sitting across from me reading "The Oatcake" fanzine.  So, yes, it must be the Northern clubs who are 'hanging on' to them.

I think a lot depends on the history of the fanzines and their readership. I may be wrong but I seem to recall that ours were disappearing early on when digital media was coming to the fore, however I know of a lot of clubs where they have certain fanzines which have been going strongly for donkeys years and thus they probably benefit from the fact that buying hard copy is almost habit.

I think its the same with programmes, a very outdated media but for me it remains part of match day and thus I normally buy one.

I miss the podcasts which had become a regular fortnightly event - not posting / or posting a link seems a strange way for them to come to an end. Washbag is a great additional to all the web sources available and gets my support....although I did get quite excited by the prospect of the 69er rare appearance.....over the years.

You needn't worry, the next Washbag podcast is being recorded this coming Sunday morning. I'm one of the podcast guests!

Not entirely sure why there's been a long gap since the last one? I know Ron's been very involved with the STFC Trust, as others have touched on.
