Chippenham striker Pratt, 21, launched a two-footed lunge at Bashley forward Christopher Knowles, 22, direct from kick-off in their British Gas Premier Division game. Nah, I always found Pratty to be alright at school.
Still, I'm pretty certain 3 seconds is NOT the fastest red card.

True but would still be the fastest red cards overall. David Pratt now holds the record for quickest sending off for a player who started the match, which isnt what the article says!! |

As i was there on saturday i can give an account of just what happened.At the kickoff, the ball was laid
back to Knowles who kicked it upfield.Just as he kicked it, Pratt launched himself,catching both of Knowles's
kicking and standing legs at the same time.Needless to say Knowles was left in a heap on the ground.
Chipp players rushed up almost enmasse shouting,"First foul" etc etc.Ref then pulls Pratt to one side,issues
red card.There were shouts from the crowd for him to be sent off,but most were stunned at what we had
just seen.Pratt knew what was coming and didn't argue with the ref or gesticulate towards the crowd.Ref
looked just like William Hague.
Ross Adams the Chipp right back then runs 30 yrds up to the ref,to give him a piece of his mind,even though
Pratt has long since departed the field of play! During the match on at least 3 occasions the ball went over the
touchline and Adams then boots it out of the ground.He also continued to whack the Bash left winger - who
scored the winning goal,all afternoon,even after a booking.
If you think yesterday at the CG was cold,saturday was so cold watching in the 1st half and in the queue at
half time for a coffee,i'm surprised we made it to watch the 2nd half.Tommy Widdrington (Salisbury coach)
was stood just behind me,during the 1st half.Last season i saw Supermarine at Bash and guest of honour for
the day was Paul Rideout! He comes from Lymington which is nearby.

I think the reason the record is different is because it's measured from the start of the game, not the start of when the substitute enters the field of play.
Wasn't the Gillespie record dubious anyway? Technically he'd been on the pitch longer than zero seconds, I think it's because the ball hadn't come back into play,
No idea about the other bloke, never seen it I don't think.
