I know Obika's a Striker, I'm wondering what kind of striker.

And the rumour of Smith to Shitty now we have got Obika doesnt sound so unlikely

Can't see that one happening.

Rotherham have had 2 pretty big bids for Luongo rejected as well, so at least if he does go it will be for some serious dollar. I'd rather he didn't, we'll be a lot worse without him.

Media guys in Southampton seem pretty confident Jack Stephens will be allowed to join #stfc as and when Toby Alderweireld joins Saints.

Rotherham rumour is rubbish based on earlier stories. Mass is on a plane to join up with Aus squad so i have no worries on that front.

Hard to tell from his time here as he arrived when we were fucking woeful, he was getting no support and was pretty much trying to create his own chances. He was quick, but also quite bulky and strong from what I can recall.

Pacey, quite big doesn't seem too clinical.

Scored a good goal once though.

Today is going to be quite mental for us, isn't it?

I suppose we have had a couple of quiet deadline days recently.

What do you mean he was trying to create his own chances?  We were playing 3 up front!

I think Obika was highly thought of at Yeovil. Didn't they have him for a couple of long spells?

So Obika and Stephens hopefully today then. Cooper said 2 maybe 3, what position do we need more cover in?

Another wing back is probably needed, specifically a left sided one. Barthram is the only cover for those positions at the moment.

I'm impressed at the Thompson deal. Good fee, rising to a great fee if he does well (I presume a nice future % of sale fee too?). We also get him back on loan this season which is good for his development (and we don't have to buy a replacement).

Obika has been at Spurs for 6 years and is never going to get in their first team so a good time for him to move on. Is it a permanent signing or on loan? He's not pulled up many trees in his many loan spells but has been playing for Brighton and Charlton in the Championship. I have a feeling he may do well here.

Could be quite an exciting day, if we can get Stephens for the season, given the way Turnbull has started, I'm pretty happy.
